Hey Manitoba!

Thanks so much! Here's my old post/reveal... it does that (light flash) often! :) But I'm sure all Tiffany diamonds do! You can't go wrong with this decision but my vote is still solitaire! (ps I'm a size 7 finger for reference)

ps if you are CND and buy in the US it is SO MUCH CHEAPER!
Stunning...looks great on your finger!
I'd get the RB...classic and as someone said, jazz it up with bands.

Novo all the way! You can check my thread for the novo I recently got! Love it! But you are right, round brilliant definitely looks bigger than novo, also hides color better as well! But I would strongly advise you to check them out in store. Another 2 things would be good to bear in mind when you make decisions: check how the rings look like in the store ( under spot lights) as well as under normal lights! RB would be definitely looks more sparkling in the store. Secondly check the detailed specs of the novo. My 1.35ct novo has the same face up size as 1.51ct and 1.47ct. Sorry one more point, consider your wedding band as well, as at the end of the day, you want a beautiful set! Hope this helps!

This is a tough choice indeed. I really like the Novo as well, but I would go for the RB for myself. It is classic and will never go out of style. I remember when Lucida came out it was very popular, but I do not think it is that popular anymore.

Novo is stunning, but the decision lies between whether you want more brilliance/finger coverage? OR something a little more unique and unusual :smile1:

I had a GORGEOUS cushion that gave off amazing brilliance, but to find those are very difficult. Tiffany's stocks some of THE best cushions. Leon Mege is another source you might want to consider for cushions.

Being devil's advocate here ;)

Bottom line, go for what you love!! You'll never be happy otherwise (I speak from experience)

The bottom line question- do you like the simplicity of the Tiffany solitaire? I have a 1.9 carat RB solitaire from Tiffany. I knew in my heart when we got it that I wanted a more elaborate setting. So, I like my ring, but don't love it. DH has promised to get it re-set for me, but we have some other financial priorities right now.

I tried different bands too. All told, I have 5 bands from Tiffany. The simple knife edge platinum band, a 3 mm shared prong, a 2 mm channel set and 2 shared prong, alternating diamond and sapphire bands.

None of these bands do for me what an upgraded setting would do.

Surfergirjen, thanks for the heads up about buying in the US. I actually live in the US now, but I used to live in Canada!! Isn't it how it always works that everything is Canada is more expensive than in the US??

Faye119 - That is so interesting that your 1.35 faces up that large!! That is an awesome tip thank-you very much :)

Contessa - thank you for offering your experience!! Yes I just have to go with what I really like :)

nld in nyc - thank-you for the heads up...that is exactly what I am afraid of! I hope you get the setting that your are happy with :)

Thanks so much everyone for all of your help!! I went to my local tiffany's store today and somehow I have become set on the embrace!! I feel that it combines everything that I like into one. I am going to step back and take a break for awhile and really think about what will make me happy and when I go back and still have the same feelings...I believe it will be the embrace! Thank you all again :)

I have the classic round brillant, and I absolutely love it! I tried the Novo and Classic on, and the classic just looked so much bigger and brighter (I got a 1 ct.). I also like the classic because I could change the look with different bands. Both are beautiful! My best advise, try them both on. Pick the one that looks better on your hand.

It would be nice if we could see them on your finger, but they usually don't allow you to take pics of that sort of thing.
I would say whichever one makes your hand look better.
I am a fan of the cushion cut though!

LOVE LOVE the embrace! It's beautiful and I tried it on in Tiffanys and it was my favorite of all the rings. Definitely let us know when you go back what you decide.

Now we're talking a whooole 'nother ball game!! LOL. I LOVE the embrace!! That was what I wanted originally but my DF's cousin's ring looked too much like it, and I didn't want to be a copy cat, so I went for the soleste!

But I think taking a break is a great idea - you have all the time to decide. This will be on your finger for life, so don't feel rushed into making a decision right now!
