I used to have a good job in a top london law firm. Now I am a stay at home mum of 3. I regret not making these sorts of purchases back then when I had extra money and no dependants. There is no way I could justify spending that sort of money on a piece of jewellery for myself now, but in hindsight I wish I had back then. Instead I had holidays and nice furniture and clothes and a house ... But life and fasions move on and it has all gone now. I wish I had invested in a timeless piece of jewellery back then, to last a lifetime. So my advice would be to definitely go for it. Its hardly like you are leaping on a fad since you have coveted it for so long. Get it now and you will have more years to enjoy it.

In a way I think you're smart, to have a house is always better than any material possession...n I guess in a way although I love my bracelet, I sometimes feel a bit guilty we didn't save it for our future -house, deposit, mortgage..things to put in said future house..

But I think if you love it that much...totally go for it! I have loved it for 5 years and the feeling of finally getting feels different from any other purchase. I would go for diamonds since it is what you want, and if you get the plain one, you will start thinking bout the diamond one! So think of it as a...saving...from another future love bracelet purchase (although that's not necessarily a bad thing)...! I can honestly tell you after just a month of having one plain love and telling myself that's all I'll ever need...I am already thinking of the 4 diamond love...! Bad addiction!

True, but I no longer have the house - I sold it just before the big crash and put my money into another house in a bad area that just DROPPED in value and is now hardly worth anything. And then we moved away from that house because the area was so bad and now we are renting!

I would much rather have a nice bit of jewellery to look at!

I agree with Splurgeface, if you have the money for it get it now. A beautiful piece of jewelry will always remind you of carefree times before children, if that's in your plan. Once you have a family it is really hard to justify things like this for quite some time unless you luck out.

You have given it a lot of thought; it is not an overnight decision. I would definitely buy it if I were you. If you buy the plain you will regret it and probably buy it after a few years anyway!

Also, you are still so young with a whole life in front of you. Please consider the cost per wear!! If you come to life 75 years, that's about 27.375 days. I guess the cost per day will be totally fine ;-)

Enjoy your splurge!

I agree with all of the above!

2 things:
1- Do NOT settle!
2- Get it NOW before any further price increase and before any extra responsibilities!

Good luck!

I soooo totallly agreee...I have been eyeing for my first love bracelet since 2006. I waited for 5 years to get my first one, and I was literally kicking my self because the price difference from 5 years ago was so significantly big than the current price I paid for it in 2011. I had me a YG bracelet with 4 diamonds, lucky to get it right before the July price increase. And then just recently, my DH got me a plain WG bracelet last Valentine`s day as I`ve heard through the grapevine that there is another price increase lurking just around the corner. I went ahead and grab it because I know that I wont be able to afford it in years to come. I have enough regret for my delay in getting my first one and I`m not doing it again! So I say to you...go ahead and reward yourself with something your heart have been desiring for the long 8 years. No doubt, you will enjoy it for the rest of your life!..Good luck to you!!!

Definitely get it now and definitely get the 4 diamond! I had the same thoughts about the diamonds and I realized that if I didn't get the diamonds I wouldn't be completely happy and end up regretting not getting what I really wanted. I diamonds added to the bracelet for me. It is something special that you will have forever and really since you wear it 24/7 you get so much wear out of it! You are savvy for your age and you deserve to get something special that you have wanted for a long time. I regret waiting a year to buy it because of how much the price increased in only a year! Get it now before it goes up anymore!

Greentea I love your sig, I mentioned it to DH and he agrees!

Get the RG or YG with the 4 diamonds, it is best to get what you are after sooner rather than later. Cartier price increases wait for no man!

I was looking at an old cartier catalogue from 2007 yesterday.

The full diamond love bangle was £5,750 back then not sure what it is now, but it is defo more!!
