Oh no! So sorry to hear that.
I have an Alma in givre and used it maybe 4x, I check it just now and was so nervous while taking it out of its dust bag, but it is still perfect. I should use it more often!

Do you find your alma too large?? I'm really torn between the alma and the alma bb. I don't carry much just looking for a function every day bag.

Yes you should!
I put mine away as I had my babies and now it's too late :nogood:

Bad LV service refuse to do anything about it and just want to wash their hands. One of the reasons why i've switching to Chanel. Their patent doesn't react like this.

I love your name! Too cute. I'm also a doc's wife :D

I have seen Chanel in Pink patent discoloured on pre-loved sites - I don't think this is specific to LV only.

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through this. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you but I'm curious to know whether this is an ongoing issue with newer light colored vernis items. I have an alma bb in rose angelique and I'd be heartbroken if it discolors.

I would like to know the same, if it has been improved at all?

It does happen. There are threads about this in the Chanel forum. I was recently reading one about a discolored pink patent flap.

I've just looked up the post about the discoloured pink Chanel patent.
The difference is that Chanel staff admitted problems with the pink patent and took the bag back and offered a credit without being asked.
With LV, they are not admitting any responsibility and merely saying it's the nature of patent. If i was notified of this at the time of purchase, i wouldn't have purchased it. Honestly, i don't buy LV to use for a season or two. I buy LV to collect, use and pass on to my kids.

Was that the hot pink chanel? There is another thread. Of a baby pink chanel that turned kind of an ugly shade of beige. I believe, the OP was just told that it happens. I wanted to link it this morning, but could not find it.

I bought this 6 years ago and it has only been used a few times. It is stored in a cupboard along with all the 15 other LV bags (non-Vernis). Each of which is covered with the protective cover-bag that comes with the LV bags. Discovered this discolourization 2 weeks ago. It wasn't like that a few months ago. All the other LV bags in the same storage cupboard do not have this problem.

I took it to the LV shop last week and they told me and insisted that this discolourization is "normal wear and tear".

Does anyone have experience with this problem ? Is there a fix to restore the colour ?

Can anyone explain why this happened ? Perhaps in more technical (scientifc terms) ?

Hi there.

I know your post is way back in 2006. Wondering if you get to resolve this issue? My mom purchased her pink one in 2006 and it has discoloration as well. She barely used the piece.

Would appreciate an update.

Thanks!

The OP only made 15 posts total, with the last one being in 2006, so safe to say they won't be responding. Vernis discoloration is known and mentioned in the LV care booklet that comes with the item. Even without use, exposure to any of the elements (heat, light, etc.) can cause discoloration.

The only remedy is to sell or dye the bag a darker color. Since you were able to find this thread, do a search for more recent ones with tips and suggestions.
