Original Mulberry Bayswater in tooled Darwin leather. True selection of the species: only the strongest or most determined can wear it - and survive!
(Or a masochist like yours truly).

Could not agree more...I re-homed mine, the Bayswater has the extra challenge of having straps too short for shoulder carry (for me) and too heavy for arm crook carry and throws your balance out with hand carry...disaster for me.

Oh I am so with you on this! I spend my time tracking down the lightest things possible to put in my Birkin just because I love her so much!
It’s funny with this bag, because although I have smaller ones, I always end up reaching out to it and despite leaving home with a empty bag, I usually come back stuffed. This is another reason why I like it so much.

Vintage Coach Duffle Bag, aka the Bucket bag. I was all excited to spot a rack of them on clearance at an outlet in the late 90's, but the weight of it empty stopped me in my tracks (and I was in good shape back then!). I have come across several in last year at thrift/ flea markets and they still feel as heavy.
Yes, they are! The Manor bag is very heavy for its size because it has leather sections.

Dooney and Burke Florentine satchel. They are gorgeous but over 2lbs empty. The small Florentine is beautiful and a little bit lighter so that’s what I have. I also have a Marc Jacobs that I bought last year. It’s gorgeous, has beautiful multi color web strap and it weighs a ton! I’m debating whether I’ll keep it. I don’t know the weight but I’m willing to guess it’s well over 2lbs.
Agree about the florentine satchel. So I orderd a lovely big wide strap for it. The strap came, really beautiful BUT it was wide leather and weighed one pound on its own. Still laughng about that.
