hi ladies,
i haven't been here or on the HH site for a while, but i too just got the email for the sale. i have a big fat HH gift card left and tried to use it in conjunction with the sale but was told that i cannot combine two "promotions" together. i tried to explain that a gift card is just like money (am i wrong?).

i don't know what to do. i tried calling but no one answers and on the chat i keep getting the same responses over and over again, about not being able to combine promotions.

lovely to see you......my recommendation, keep trying. The new owners/CS team is pretty clue-less and unresponsive. I've had to call several times to activate a discount code. It FINALLY happened and honestly, I really am not in the mood to purchase from these new owners.

i've now spent 20+ minutes on chat with two different people. same answers, including what the "ceo" said, apparently. gift cards and store credits are promotions.

i'd file with bbb but they already have an F score... i really don't know what to do.
 
hi Hokka - I don't remember if that's been a consistent position for them. You could try pm ing HHcustserv on tpf. Oana used to use that when she posted. She seemed to know more than the other cs reps.

yeah, been talking to oana now for another 20 minutes. she literally left the conversation to ask the CEO but never said where she was going so i let her know that was not cool.

they keep insisting promotions/special offers cannot be combined so i finally posted the FAQ language and asked them where is says a gift card is a promotion or special offer.
 
@ Hokka: That happened to some HHotties during the last sale too. The powers-that-be have directed the website(or the techy people who set it up I guess)and CS workers to treat Gift Cards as if they're some kind of code or coupon! It's the most ridiculous business-defeating policy I think I've ever heard of. And that's taking into account the P.I.T.A. norm that shopping at HH is already...Sigh.
I am really starting to think they're deliberately trying to make the biz fail now. Can people take out insurance policies on failing businesses? Maybe the "new owners" have a billion dollars riding on HH's product sales dying a slow & painful death...:shrugs:

ps- Sorry/i didn't realize you got all these other responses. The idea of calling a Gift Card a promotion is a strrettch, but a store credit?? That should be freakin illegal!! No amount of gorgeousness in a design is worth the insults to customer intelligence & loyalty that these people keep dishing out. Never mind the quality issues! I know there are many other small/indie co's out there that actually value my biz & I can feel good about spending my $$ with. Giving HH any business at this point would probably leave me feeling like a sex addict who relapses with a prostitute who is known to be riddled with STD's... :sick:"dirty" doesn't even begin to cover it.
 
Gift Card should never count as a "promotion"! That's ridiculous.

And despite all the HH problems STILL, I am thinking about buying my coralline nackie with the current 40% off. Am I insane?
And if the bag doesn't have a pre-order date, does that mean it is allegedly in stock and ready to ship?
 
I am confused too by the way they're doing things. I thought at first that they were turning things around - new designs - reaching out to customers in emails + here. But then they dropped all communication at the end of March. I think if I was trying to get people to do the made to order thing I might try to fix my bbb rating?
 
update for now: oana is checking to see if she can make an exception. also, they are checking tpf - during the chat she mentioned that she would have preferred i wait to find out what would happen before i posted.

i let her know to please let the mystery ceo know that it is not right (in general and as per their own website/FAQ/terms that store credits (which expire in one year, btw.) and gift cards be treated as promotional codes for purposes of purchasing. i don't care what field i input it into but i DO expect it it to be treated as cash/payment.
