If something is $300-$150(groupon)=$150. $150+$75(price paid for groupon)= $225. Without groupon Lets say there is a 30% code $300-30%=$210. You still get a better deal without groupon. Even worse than before. You are really just giving HH a loan Noway!! These are good if you are looking to pay retail and can't wait for a sale.

It would have been useful in the SS sale when the prices were just posted without any percentages off etc. They've gotten to where any other codes don't work on a sale like the one they just had so a Groupon would be good to have then. I agree the Groupons do have some fun little hidden pitfalls.

I bet you wont be able to use them on Sample sales at all. The item will probably go back up to retail. Fine print says not to be combined with any other deals. I know HH they will use any chance they can to make it not worth it for us.

the groupon thing worries me. hh (and any other groupon merchant) only gets 50% of the value of the groupon. in this case, $37.50... i wonder if they're really desperate AGAIN? i hope not. a lot of merchants that are doing well issue groupons. (fingers crossed)

i'm going to pick up a few. i'm not interested in any bags ATM but, some smalls are calling my name.

Is this the way Groupons always work? They are only sold for like a 24 hour window or something? If so, that's lame. I'd like to get one, just to get some cuffs or something small. But who can come up with that kind of money on the fly?! :hrmm:

typically, yes. one or two days. most groupons are usually more like $15 - 25 in price, though (for restaurants and such).

^^Ok, thanks hokka! I just wish they would provide notice that they'll be selling Groupons (maybe they do and I don't know where to look) for a particular company. That way people can save up for that sort of thing.

Two or three weeks ago I wrote Ben to say that my Groupon wasn't being applied properly. It was applying the Groupon before the percent off code. He told me that that is how they work and because of the confusion, they wouldn't be offering them again!!!

In the last batch of groupons we were allowed to use 2 of them on one order if the total was $450 or something. So 450 - 300 + 150 (cost of the 2 groupons) means that you get $150 off a bag that was $450. Does anyone know if this new batch works that way too - that we could apply 2 groupons to a larger order?
