Ooh how is the orsay RubyBegonia? I am tempted when they pop up but I think heavy + shortish (for me) strap drop means I should resist.

Yes, it is fairly heavy. And while I can & do pop it up on the shoulder, it's not a good fit. I do love the bag because it's, I don't know, important looking?

And I gotta say this. While she poses for photos beautifully, those decorative leather bits have a mind of their own when you're using it!

I actually have 3 pallenberg duffels. Jenn had my old saffron pallenberg but then I got it back from her. LOL Jenn has the matching saffron cannes tote.

Awe you guys are too sweet. My blog is a labor of love. I'm glad someone is finding it useful.

i love your blog lu!! its very helpful and i absolutely love that you always pose w/ your bags.

Yay sally! I like that when you see what you want you go for it....it's going to be so exciting when they arrive! Congratulations!

Oh yeah, they'll be in Pt. Roberts and you have to find time to go get them, I feel so spoiled that my stuff comes to my door. No more griping from me about having to wait.

You're so sweet. YOu can't imagine the grief I get from the Canadian border guys when I come back across. They have trouble believing that ANYONE would ever need more than one purse. And they are slightly suspicious. When I come through the border and tell them that I have $1000 worth of stuff (pretty easy if there are bags, cuffs, scarves, clothes, stuff for the house) they are very surprised to hear that it is all for me and my family and that I am not some importer. Yet - as I have pointed out to them on more than one occasion - if a guy came through the border with $2000 worth of stereo parts, computer or electronic parts or car parts - they wouldn't even blink.

Ah - okay. On this map I live nearest to the I and the D, If you go to the I and scoot up a few blocks (north) that's about where I live. If you zoom out one click on the - button and pan a tiny bit south you will see the border and then Point Roberts. See how weird the border is here? Point Roberts is a tiny little part of the US that you can only get to if you you drive through Canada. And then - for some stupid reason - just west of Point Roberts, the border dips south. It's a mystery why they couldn't have just dipped the border south on the east side of Point Roberts???? Whatever. The kids on Point Roberts have to go on a bus into Canada and then drive around boundary bay and then cross the border again to go to a US high school in Blaine Washington. 4 border crossings/day.

That's crazy Sally. Makes me appreciate living 2 blocks from the High School when I was growing up.

To keep on topic. How long does it take you to go to Points Roberts and back when you do so to pick up your lovely HH items when ordered???

Honestly - it is a 1.5 to 2 hour round trip from my house. It takes me about 25 - 30 mins to get there depending on traffic. I have to go through a highway tunnel that runs UNDER the river and the traffic can get super backed up there. Esp at rush hour. But getting through the border crossing can be 10 mins going down, it can take about 20 - 30 minutes to pick up all my packages and open them and examine them to see if anything has to be returned before I come back into Canada. I also remove all the packaging, stuffing and break down all the cardboard boxes and leave them at the mailbox place for THEM to recycle (bad sally - leaving all the cardboard in the US). then I have to wait at the border crossing to come back, go in and pay the suspicious border dudes the taxes and duties and try (very patiently) to walk them through the bills and invoices. Yup - uh huh - it IS leather. Um hmmm - yes - purses CAN cost that much. Yes - many women besides me have more than ONE purse. Gah - then I can drive home through the tunnel again.
