Have you ever lied about your LV?

I've had a couple of guys that scared me once ask me about my LV wanting to know if it was real. It was late and I had to stop for gas, I went inside to pay and a guy asked me, I turned to him and said "I wish!" He just kinda grinned and I paid and got out of there.

In a situation like that I would.

I tell my husband I get them on ebay for a great price--I've rarely gotten anything decent on ebay for a "great" price. I'd tell him they're fake, but he'd disapprove even more. I commented to my son't little GF that she was carrying a nice Louis and she immediately blabbed that she got in on Harwin St. (Houston's version of Canal Street), I said yeah, me too (not in this lifetime.) I always tell my daughter they're fake, but she, clever girl, doesn't believe a word I say, and starts checking on line to see how much of her inheritance I've spent.

I definately tell strangers they're fake--it's none of their business. And people who approach me and ask about my purse are definately frightening. I don't tell them anything, I ask them why they want to know.

By the way, your "i wish" answer sounds perfect.

I've lied to my husband and my family before-- telling them 'oh- this bag ? it's fake'-- only for them to roll their eyes and say-- YOU! BUY A FAKE????! Yeah right-- oh well I guess they know me too well :shame:

I've done the -"oh this bag? Gotta love ebay!!!" Or "Found it on the internet at a great price". That's about a close as I have come to lying. Once dh asked how much my lv mc pochette costs when I carried it with us out to dinner. Instead of lying I just looked him square in the eye and told him that I would never tell him how much I spentand that he was better off not knowing! Of course then it became a game for him to try to get me to fess up but I stood my ground

It never ceases to amaze me how some people can just blatantly ask if a purse is real :evil: . To me, it's a bit rude.

So far, I've been honest w/ my purchase and my DH gave up on my handbag fetish a long time ago, lol.

I lie all the time to SO....he does NOT understand my obsession with LV, and basically gives me a hard time if he knows how much it costs. I pay for all my bags myself so I don't know what he's all upset about. I have a Lucille that I wear a lot, and when we went to the LV store to try on different bags, he somehow found out how much it cost and scolded So I am not going to go shopping with him at LV anymore....

Not to my husband, he's the one who buys them for me so, I can't lie. I do lie about them to my in-laws. Shhh!

Ditto about my hubby. I can't lie to my MIL either. She is very knowledgable about designer purses. Her collection is far way more impressive than mine

I haven't had the need to cause I've only been asked by my friends and I don't lie to them. They can't understand why I bought my Speedy but they carry fakes so to each his own.

If I were in a bad area or in a situation where I feel uneasy and they ask me, I'll lie no doubt.

I always lie to strangers, but I feel bad when I lie to friends. I'll tell them that I got it on sale, which is true for my clothes, but not for my bags ... what would you guys say in this type of situation? I can't think of any good responses when my friends ask.

I would definately lie in that situation!!
My husband knows how much LV is though as he sees the "real" price on the credit card bill.
I don't tell other people what LV costs or if its real. Once had a snobby looking woman in a shop look at my Alma and go " Real ones of those cost a lot of money". I just said "Yep" and walked away, don't feel the need to justify to strangers that it's real.

My mum was with me when I bought my bag as it was a birthday present from my mum and dad. I refuse to tell my friends how much my bags cost because they dont appreciate that the are quality made and craftmanship. They just dont understand what LV is!!!

as for my bf's friends, they always ask if speedy 30 is real and i always say, "yes" my bf knows how much i spent on it and its the only bag he likes out of my small collection! hehe!!!

Yes!!! To my husband's side of the family. I think they would think I am mental if they knew what kind of $$$ I spent on bags. THANK GOD my husband doesn't care so it's "OUR dirty little secret"!!!
