next time they comment rudely on your handbags, tell them that they are rude and to f*** off. Like that is so rude, why should people even care how YOU spend YOUR hard earned money? LIKE 4REAL. SMH.Sounds like the people around you have issues! In this country we call them 'begrudgers', people who resent other people's success/possessions. Take no notice, move on and enjoy your bags with your head held high. Why shouldn't you? The closest I come to unwelcome comments is amazement about the number of bags I own. This amazes ME, as I don't have many bags! My mother-in-law recently pointed out to me that she had only one bag. I felt like saying to her, 'Yes, but you're in your eighties and aren't that keen on bags!' There's always a snappy answer for these people, but sometimes you just don't want to waste your energy. The thing is, don't let them get to you!
Unfortunately some people don't know how to mind their own business. I know it's hard but "ignore" and "carry on" is the best way especially in work situation. Try not to create war against them.

He He!! Good one!I had someone make a sarcastic comment to me once about how much I'd spent on a particular bag and my reply back to them was *You prefer to spend your money on plastic surgery, I prefer to spend mine on bags.* That shut her a$$ up.
Thanks everyone, i am feeling much better after reading all the wonderful advice! I guess i need to learn to not be so sensitive about this.
It's probably good old jealousy, they noticed the bag, that's the first clue, and a snide comment, what else could it be. Then there are the ones that like the bag, but can't wrap their brain around spending that much, most of those end up buying better bags at some point, any one else notice that? Their comments aren't usually nasty, more like " I don't get how you... yada yada," then they come along with a better bag than what they had.
Being treated like that for carrying a bag would really hurt my feelings. I've experienced the innuendo about my bags, but nothing so blunt in my face.

I agree, don't even bother continuuing the conversation. Or perhaps the next time you receive an unwelcome comment you could ask why it bothers them. It IS unusual for men for notice and comment on these things.
