Actually your post has just reminded me that my DH actually has given me handbags in the past and they were both Chloe :p
DH actually gave me my very fist Chloe bracelet handbag which pretty much started my obcession with Chloe :D

Nope he doesnt have the money to buy a bag, even if we put xmas bday and anniversary prezzies together. Besides which I really dont think he would know what to buy me, I usually just tell him what I want for bdays etc because its easier for both of us. It would be nice if he was able to buy one I wanted for a gift but since he cant I just buy them myself and ask him for stuff which is a bit cheaper like jewellery or something.

Oh, he always asks me what guitar to get next, but I only Like Telecasters, and he always knows what I'm going to suggest.:p He just needs some confirmation, I think!

dh has surprised me with Coach bags when we were newlyweds. Since he worked in the area, he would choose something from the new arrivals at the Coach store. He always managed to get the SAs to wrap up the nicest most perfectly tanned leather ones. Those were the good old days! :p

I never had to return a bag dh bought for me, but I have returned a wallet or two...

Last birthday my DH surprised me with a MJ bag and I was truly touched! It was a bag that he picked out all by himself and I loved it even more because of that. That was the first time he had picked out a bag for me (in previous years, I picked out the bag and he bought). This weekend for Mother's Day he got me a Comme des Garcons wallet and I am over the moon. It's something I would have never gotten for myself yet I absolutely adore it. More than the actual bag/wallet, I'm just so appreciative of the fact that he pays attention and spends the time to pick out something that I would like. Thanks for letting me gush :D
