Don't always assume it's the negative and also, if she was checking if it was real-so what? It's a complete stranger.

I'm not bothered by it, I was even slight amused: old girl nearly broke her neck . but seeing as it's a bag forum and all....

I stare at other ppl's bags a lot, mostly admiring them but also (deep down inside) checking whether it's real or not, LOL! I also noticed the same thing happened to me quite a few times. I try to take it as a compliment.

Funny thing, I was in a diamond booth last week at the HK annual jewellery show. I was wearing my 35cm chartreuse birkin on my shoulder (the far left one on my avatar) and were checking out some stones, when suddenly the guy who tended the booth started to put his hand on my arm trying to move it aside (my arm was blocking the Hermes stamp). He then smiled and said: "great choice, you have a really nice bag". Aaww, I smiled back at him and said thank you. I didnt end up buying any diamonds from him though, hehe..

I had an SA at Banana Republic ask me if my Speedy was real. Then she asked me a million questions and asked to hold it.

Yes. To the point that SAs have to stare hard at my bag to determine if it's authentic before serving me.
