Wow!! You have a beautiful wedding set. My mother has two wedding set which are really beautiful. I want to post the pictures of the two wedding set but am not able, I have done the copy and paste but it don’t work. Can anyone give a suggestion??

Your current set is gorgeous. I love your nails color and your LV.
I think there's nothing wrong in having two sets. It's really very sweet of your DH to do this. I know that people get a seccond set for an anniversary, or they upgrade e-rings. It's very common.

Your husband is very sweet and thoughtful. I think it is perfectly fine to be given a new engagement ring and wedding band. You can always treasure your first ones too. You may even decide to wear your original engagement or wedding ring on your right hand as I do sometimes.

I also want to say that your MIL sounds like a very kind person and she raised her son in the same nice way.

ooh! Congrats on the anniversary and congrats again on the option to do this!!!

There are so many ways you can do it without sacrificing wearing the other set. You can solder this one together and set a colored stone into the original setting, or take the stones out of it and make a pendant or a different ring.

I have "two sets" in the sense that I have my e-ring, and a million other bands-though I only wear it with one of two bands. The other actual set is my promise ring with a plain band. And lately that's what I wear.

I say go for it. I don;t know the specs of your current one but it looks BIG and nice to me already but het if you can do better now why not have 2? I do have a second set but only b/c i had to sell my 2 ct in plat. my mom had passed to me (willed to her from her great aunt) when i was broke, preggo and newly married when times were very tight...my dh was laid off and we had to pay rent. I got a 1/3 ct a couple yrs later from target b/c i saw it, it was only $350 and dh saw me admiring it and bought it but it was really nothing special as i learned more and got more into diamonds. This past Dec, though we are seperated (for good) he did replace my orig family ring with 1.23 oval that is F, si1 and 1.39 in side stones (16 pt princess in an invisible set bridge all the way under the main stone) in plat. and a lovely .25 ct band followed for my bday in Feb. so i do have 2 sets right now sort of. I also have a 14 K yellow band that matches the target cheapy ring and an 18K white fairly wide band i bought myself a few yrs ago. I don;t wear my e-ring every single day to run around with the kids and cleanm house as i am afraid despite insurance of banging it around...so i usually just wear the sparkly band with 3 pointers.
The point of all this is do what makes yuo happy but i think you never have too many nice rings and such :) And this one is just as special as it was HIs idea and HE wants to choose it.

I got a new set at my 5yr and I see another set I have my eye on. I had a similar situation to you and now my husband makes more and wants to do more for me.

I still have my precious first set though!

I brought up with DH that it would be really nice to have a yellow gold ring for days when I wear gold, and he seemed to think this was an alright idea (shocking!). I can see having two, but honestly the one you have now is some serious bling to me! It's all relative, though.

you're not alone twink :) i have 2 sets also.. when dh and i got married he gave me a 2 1/2 carat solitaire and a 1 1/4 eternity band. when we had our 10th anniversary he gave me a 4 carat solitaire and a 2 carat eternity band.. i wear the 1st set daily and wear the 2nd set when we go out - it stays in my safe deposit box mostly though =) keep the original as is - it has so much sentimental value =)
