Posting this in both threads:
The topic is Meghan and Harry, not other members’ opinions of Meghan and Harry, and particularly not other PF threads about them.

There is plenty of material to discuss, please stay on course and keep it to the Sussexes.

Thanks for understanding.

Harry leaving as a working member of the royal family was not surprising to me. The writing had been on the wall for years that he was going to leave in my opinion.

Harry had said multiple times before he was ever with Meghan that he didn't like aspects of the UK and had mentioned how he hates the British Press. Harry use to get smart with journalists that got to close to him at engagements/asked him questions they clearly already knew the answers to and would also get into fights/get angry with photographers.

This video actually has multiple clips of Harry talking about his dislike for both the British Press and aspects of the UK (all the clips are from before he met Meghan):

I think Harry stayed on as a working royal as long as he did out of respect for his grandmother but once Meghan and then Archie got attacked via the British Press that was the final straw for him because it was clear the environment they were in was never going to get better. There were articles from the British Press that were both subtly and blatantly filled with Sexism, Racism, Classism, and Xenophobia.

While Harry was in the U.K. the same people who wrote some of the horrible stories about him and Meghan in the British Press were some of the same people who got to cover their events and were in close range of them because they were a part of the Royal Rota. Now when Harry and Meghan have events in both the U.S. and other places around the world the access the media has is completely different. The international media covers their events but they are a distance away and for the most part they no longer have to be in the same places as members of the Royal Rota. Also they now have their own personal photographers (notably often the photographers Matt Sayles and Misan Harriman) to capture personal pictures and portraits as well as pictures of meetings and various events they have/attend. That is such a difference to how it was for them as working royals. Harry and Meghan seem to have normalcy, privacy, and the ability to tell/do things on their own terms now that they aren't working royals.

Thank you for posting these clips as it throws the "Megxit" narrative in the trash. Its well documented how much he detested the British press as they were partly responsible for his mother's death as well as him questioning his future as a royal while in the army. So when similar patterns of behavior were observed as it related to Meghan and Archie as a husband and father he didn't want history repeating itself on his watch. He didn't want his son raised without a mother. And the fact that the palace had an investigation into Meghan's "bullying" allegations buried with no mention of recommendations also lends credence to the fact that Meghan was largely telling the truth about things that have happened while at the firm.

Meghan's outfit really is paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

Meghan wore a black dress similar to what she wore to Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday in 2018, a black version of the hat she wore to Queen Elizabeth II‘s Platinum Jubilee, and the Pearl and Diamond studs she is wearing were a gift from the Queen Elizabeth II.

She looks beautiful and very solemn.

I have seen on a news report that some of the royal family were actually complaining that it was improper for Harry and Meghan to be holding hands so much! even though there were others doing the same of course they said.
she looks so sad in this photo.

Your comment reminds me of this

She can never get a break, per usual and we all know why. At least she looked like a woman in mourning as some others appeared to be more interested in tomb raiding the Queens personal statement jewelry chest and proudly flaunting it at her funeral before the poor woman can even be buried properly. I am sure they got permission from King Charles, but...ick. But I digress.

Not to mention, I think Meghan was the only one crying besides little Charlotte and George. On that score, weren't they the only royal children to ever be present at such young ages at a state funeral? I know there was some fuss about James joining the precession at 14, but they are very little 7 and 10.

Anyway, I am glad Meghan was there to support Harry and pay her last respects to the Queen. She looked so beautiful.

that sentence is so on the mark - they can't decide why they are so upset with her because every single day there is a new reason. being upset that they dared to hold hands is grasping for something to complain about!

as for charlotte and george - someone said that william and kate decided to let them come at the last minute because they thought they were old enough.
