"Halo" Ring Setting - which shape diamonds look best with it? share your pics!

I recently bought this emerald cut diamond halo ring in 18k white gold to wear as a RHR - .25 carat centre stone and .50 carat weight total including the side stones. I think it looks a lot bigger than the carat weight would suggest. I love the emerald cut of the centre diamond and think it is perfectly suited to a halo design, however I like princess cut and cushion cut diamonds in this setting too. Not so keen on brilliant cut diamonds in a halo which is surprising since that’s my preferred cut of diamond in almost any other design.

I recently got engaged last June with a 1.01ct cushion in a halo setting, and while it was a very pretty ring, it did not hold a candle to my upgraded 1.01ct D color, VVS1, Triple Ex round in a square halo from Ritani. I cannot believe the difference in sparkle!!!

That I did! He had my ring custom designed to look just like this (was not going to let him pay Tiffany prices). I snuck a peek at some photos of it on his phone (I’m shameless, I know), and while it’s not a dead ringer for it, it’s pretty close! Will share when I get the ring in less than two months [emoji1376]

I can’t wait! It was hard to tell from the photos since they were in weird lighting and not the clearest, and there was no reference point, but I think the stone will probably end up being a bit smaller than this, maybe it was 2.15-2.25 if I had to guess?

Don’t worry, that is still a very large stone, and with the halo and your small fingers I don’t think you will have DSS anytime soon [emoji4]
