Hall of Shame: Post the Ebay H Fakes Here!

I'm new to Hermes and was wondering whether people can comment on why they think an item is fake...the bags have been obvious for me, but the scarves, not as much.

I am privately having bababebi authenicate all my bags (and communication with her has been excellent.) Reading this, I am concern about the few scarves I have purchased from TheRealReal. I look at real and fake scarves side by side and struggle to see the difference.

I think it would really make this thread helpful for newbies. TIA!

The information is also helpful to counterfeiters so we don't discuss what makes something authentic.

Just a word of caution - please don't mention sellers and say you're concerned about fakes if you don't know for certain something is not authentic. It's not fair to them.

If you keep reading and educate your eye, it will become clearer over time what distinguishes fake from real.

Thanks.

As a new member to this forum, I clearly do not understand the etiquette, even after reading the rules for posting. My concern regarding The Real Real (from which I have been purchasing a significant number of Hermes produces) was based on the following post. It is not my intention to be argumentative, however, I do not understand why my concerns are being censored when the following comment was not.

What is worse is that they were told this was a fake, yet here it is listed for sale again.
The Realreal has listed numerous fakes and their "authentication" process is minimal, at best.
I can't believe they would resist something that they were alerted was not authentic.

Buyer beware, I would be very cautious shopping with this site.

How are you being censored? Your comments were neither edited nor deleted.

Do you know for certain the items you bought are fake? If they aren't, or you don't know, it's unfair to imply otherwise. If you have, there are threads here to share that information. A blanket denunciation is just unfair.

Please read my OP again. No blanket denunciation was made, merely a concern after reading the post by Monceau and my inability to distinguish some of the fakes when put next to the reals that are post here and elsewhere.

I read it very carefully. The position here is that unless you know for a fact that an item is a fake, please don't mention specific sellers in conjunction with it.

Thanks.

Hi foodie007, perhaps I can clarify here. My post that you referred to was in response to an item posted by Calexandre that was clearly a fake "La Femme aux Semelles de Vent"
As mistikat mentioned,we don't discuss telltale signs of counterfeits, but this one was easy to spot because this design was never offered in the format listed.

Even reputable sellers are fooled sometimes, so it is always wise to seek the knowledge of
the wonderful members on the authenticity thread.
