^yup, i agree... i got my jumbo in 08. sifted thru 4-5 jumbos, and 3 of them were matte. i bought made in france, glossy jet-black, but soft... really just a variation on leather & glazing process.
Had sold my Fall '09 Jumbo GHW bought '08 SHW Jumbo-can see differences in the two!!!
