Very nice!
I like how this fits much better than the Dior saddle bag. Which my SA tried to upsell me all the way to the Himalayan. I was like "yeah, no thanks!"

Sharing a very thoughtful message from @knickknackchaddywack from the Kelly Messenger thread to my question about sangles.I've used the following from most frequent to least.
1) Leaving the sangles loose but UNDER the flap and utilizing the turnlock to secure closure.
Be mindful that sangles in a stiffer leather can cause the flap corners to curl upward!
Because of this, I also do option 2:
2) Leaving the sangles loose, but seated on TOP of the flap (still utilizing the turnlock to secure closure)
You can still open the flap, but just a little more effort to pull it over the floppy sangles.
I enjoy this look because I can enjoy the aesthetic of the sangles (which is what drew me to the Kelly and its siblings in the first place), but still have reasonable access to the interior.
3) Securing the sangles underneath the flap and utilizing the turnlock.
Easy to open the flap, and can works well if you like to use the slip pockets in the front, such as with a slim cardholder, passport, or boarding pass. Not as easy to grab something like your book or wallet because you may scuff the interior - the opening remains tight while the sangles are secured.
You can undo one or both of the sangles to loosen one the sides, depending on what you're trying to wrestle out.
4) Securing the sangles and tucking in the flap behind the gussets like a Birkin.
Again, good to get a slim card holder or other paraphernalia from the slip pockets. I'm not fearful of weight distribution because the flap sits in a lovely manner between the gussets of leather.
I stopped doing this for fear of scuffing the front flap, but I must say - pretty convenient.
Shows off the clean and architectural lines of the Kelly in a different way, but ultimately convinced me to seek a HAC/Birkin.
5) Leaving the Kelly completely open - sangles to the wind and flap dangling like a loose tooth.
(Regarding the traditional Kelly: I know that the "carefree" it-girls do this. But to me, I wouldn't recommend; to me, it blurs the line between "carefree" and "careless." Strain is introduced to the back panel of the bag unnecessarily, and frankly, it looks sloppy.)
That said, in the Kelly messenger's case, since the weight is distributed along the sides of the bag's body, I could see leaving it completely open as a viable option.
_____I think the Kelly messenger bag is a welcome addition to the Kelly line for its casual, masculine, utilitarian, and sporty traits.
As I've mentioned on other threads, I feel that the strap placement is a bit strange. Seems as though it may be top heavy and could lead to tilting and flipping. I also don't appreciate that the strap is non-detachable.
Looks very nice, I like the way you are wearing it.(These were posted previously in the Hermes in action thread.) I just got this bag and I love it. It’s a bit awkward for me right now but we are bonding…..

IIRC, it's $8500 but that could have changed with the price increase a few months ago.Does anyone have the price of this handy? USD or EUR. TIA!
Sharing a very thoughtful message from @knickknackchaddywack from the Kelly Messenger thread to my question about sangles.
As it relates to my Hac a Dos, I still haven't figured out what my play is with the sangles - leave them open or closed, etc. Actually, even when storing the bag, I'm not sure I wanted to refold the sangles the way it came from the store - (i.e., felt on top of the buckles, sangles locked on the mechanism), because I'm finding that this seems to stretch the sangle a bit by pushing it out.
Always in the market for more tips from this group.
It’s PM.Looks very nice, I like the way you are wearing it.
Is it PM or GM?
I’ve recently removed the lock. But I live in a safe area and most people carry LV Anyway. Many people dont even seem to know Hermes. If I were to take it to more crowded places, especially in busier cities, I would probably wear it like I did in the first photo. I’m not likely to be anywhere that would make me feel that cautious. In that case, I’d wear a different bag...probably crossbody. For the most part, I will simply treat it like a backpack and sling it over my shoulder as I did in the second photo.I am generally nervous about any form of backpack from a security point of view.
If the sangles are not latched and the bag is worn 'à dos', as per the name, that would seem to be particularly unwise.
Diane278, do you normally bother with the lock?
Jumping in to say I bought a HAC a Dos PM last year and love it. I particularly like that it fits a compact umbrella in addition to my Calvi (that I use as a wallet), phone, reusable shopping bag, and small cosmetics bag. Mine is black and is just the right side of “edgy” for my look.
Do you both keep the sangles always closed (while wearing and while storing)? Thanks!I’ve recently removed the lock. But I live in a safe area and most people carry LV Anyway. It’s a bit too soon to say for sure, but so far, I’m keeping them closed. Knowing myself, it’s likely that when I’m wearing it and, if I am in and out of it, I’ll leave them open at times.Do you both keep the sangles always closed (while wearing and while storing)? Thanks!
