i had a bad experience with H jakarta as well. i would not recommend H jakarta to my worst enemy. and by the way, i personally think that making us spend a minimum amount of money with H before we can be placed on a wait list (assuming such a wait list really existed to begin with) is very ungracious. i am sure this is not totally an uncommon practice with some H around the world. i just get a little impatient when any boutique started treating me like i should feel privileged to be given the chance to drop a large sum of money at their store, no matter how excellent and exclusive the product is.
i think you are better off going to japan and pay a bit of a premium. you will have more choices there. good luck and have fun!![]()
in Bali, you have to spend USD 2k before they offer you birkin/kelly!
not sure about that. Recently when I was there, kelly was on the shelf, and before me a tpfer also spotted exotics and birkins on display.

Hi all,
I hope I am not too late and hope this helps. My DH is in Jakarta today and he actually walked in (No H on at all!) Hermes boutique next to Hyatt Jakarta (i think, sorry, I am not local and have not been there before, DH is there for work) to ask for a Birkin.
One of the SA took out a Birkin 30cm in Epsom (I have attached pix for your viewing taken from his iPhone....sorry, if it is a little fuzzy) and the color is rouge, I think. This is actually a promotion they carry instore offered to locals only (or so they claim??) whereby you buy H products totaling to some X rupiah amount and you can purchase this Birkin 30cm at 96million rupiah. She was even willing to hold the bag for him while he emailed me the pix...
HTH![]()
96million rupiah is already very expensive, without taking into account the X rupiah you have to spend in order to qualify for the purchase.
96 million rupiah is around USD10,600, which is above the US/Canada retail for a 30cm birkin. This is not nice.
BTW, OP should not look for birkin/kelly in China. The wait list is longer than Hong Kong, and the price is also higher than Hong Kong.
Just like others said, go to Japan if you need one and dont mind paying the premium.
Good decision, KellyBeeGirl.
However, I heard from other TPFers here that Indonesia's pricing is the best amongst all asian countries. Maybe this is true except the two well-sought products of H.
