Hi everyone! Has anyone recently been to Tokyo? Is it still possible to get a K/B if you queue up in the morning in front of the Hermes Ginza store? Also, what's the stock like in other Hermes boutiques around Tokyo? Thank you very much!

Hi I am in Tokyo now and I have tried both queuing and asking around different stores.

Ginza store had one each morning while my stay there and I have luckily scored a B35 in light grey, while my queuing friend have scored a Beautiful tadeklakt etope K32 the next day and the limited edition birkin 35 in gold and amber. From chatting with other queuing buddies, the bags are mostly big sizes and sometimes they might not have stocks in the morning.

As for stocks in other stores - i have got some luck in shibuya stores which offered me K32 in dark yellow, B30 rose lipstick, B35 Barenia and B35 Toffee in the last 4 days. Unfortunately they aren’t what I was looking for so I let them go.

As for exotic bags - I saw a KC in ginza store and constance 19 in the takashimaya store.

Hope this is helpful to you :)

I’ll be going to Tokyo in March. I’m sorry if this question has been asked before but what time should you get into the queue in the morning at the Ginza store?

You should really test the water for the first day and I can't give an exact time, because some said they got first coming at 8:30 and some people hired a guy to queue for them and he came at 6:30 am! So it really depends. May I know what bag are you looking for though?

A little tip I heard from a friendly SA. Security watches the CCTV feeds. If they see someone pay or ask someone to line up for them. They will most likely not release a coveted bag on opening that day. That's why people wonder how someone got to score a bag at 12 noon, just an hour after opening while those who lined up early didn't get anything. The Japanese don't like to be confrontational so rather than kicking them out of the line outright, they simply won't offer them anything. Unless they made the swap early, I doubt if these line jumpers can get away with a bag but it does happen

There are days were people would line up as early as 8:30am but generally, 9:45 is a good time to go. Not many people can take standing up for a good 2 and a half hours. If you are number 2 to someone who lined up at 8:30am, I doubt if he will pass on anything offered to him so might be best to come back later in the day

Bags offered on opening will usually be bigger sized bags Birkin 35, Birkin 40, Kelly 32, Kelly 35 or exotics. The local market are also not fond of the so called limited model Birkins or Kellys so they offer those as well. If these are what you are after, the chances of you getting something is quite high. From what I understand, they take pity on people who come back daily and not get anything so they normally try their best to offer you something after a few days. Unless you "cheated" your way in the line, they don't hold back. If a bag was released to them for sale at 11am, they will sell it to you. If they say, none available. It usually means they were not given stock to sell at 11am. They also get stocks during the day so not being able to queue in the morning is not the end of the world.

If you are after a B30 or K28 in black, gold or etoupe, Best to try your luck at a different time of the day. Your chances will be better if you get a SA that clicks with you

This is so true
Japanese typical style

Thanks for the detailed reply. I’m in luck it seems, because I am looking for a B35 or a Kelly 32. I guess I’ll just have to give it a shot.
