Standing up on its own??? Be careful, @papertiger, next thing you know it'll start walking and march all the way out your front door, across town, and into my wardrobe.... :graucho:

Seriously, though, how great that the pattern of the weave is the same front and back. No white or unsaturated reverse showing no matter how you tie it!

Everyone should try, I just have to stop sculpting with it and get back to the sandpit.

I know, one of my first thoughts as well, count me happy about that.

Hm, in the stock photos the Dallet looks more gingham-y and the Della Cavalleria more stripe-y. Is there actually a difference in the fabrics? (And I was apparently hallucinating a purple CW, sadly.)

Please put a word in for purple.

I think there's a difference in the geometry/thread count between colour/white in the different desigs but I didn't have a look at the DC closely enough. It looks like window pane check on oe side of the DC whereas the Dallet has the gingham. See green example of DC.

I'm more drawn :giggle: to the bordeaux/blanc Della Cavalleria at the moment. Need to find pics of the green Dallet and black DC which you mentioned. The US website only has the bordeaux and marine cws at the moment.

OK, correction, both designs are only available in red, navy or green. No black sorry, I must have seen a very dark photo of the navy.

This is the DC from the Japanese h.com

Also available as a Twillion. Although I haven't got io that format yet I prefer this simpler colour scheme on these skinny scarves but would I want such a cut-up design? I'm not sure

@papertiger : You just forced me to the website to get one of these for myself. @Lostinlondon : your photo helped. The tipping point : the reverse!!!!

Please forgive. I will be pleased to hear what you think.

I promised myself I wouldn't fall for the green = hold me back. I need to lock away my cc and get someone else to hide the key.

OMG, I just got this one! As I said in the spring 2019 thread, I find the brides de gala reissues an overkill, but found the stripes on this one irresistible. The didn't have it in store, and said they will call when it arrives, but in the meantime I could not resist ordering online. Have not seen it in person yet.

I was just thinking "pity it doesn't come in a nice deep velvety purple..."
Then I saw your post - mass hallucinations... HHHysteria...

Congratulations! Love this colour doni, can't wait 'till you get it. If you find out anything more about the Eyeliners from SS18 please let me know, it'll be sometime before I have enough time to go through the whole SS18 thread to what's written.

Thank you, @momasaurus and PT. I like the green. Can't order from either the Japanese or French h .com and I just changed the equiv of 1.6 scarfs into Taiwan dollars for a holiday next week. If the green pops up on the US or UK sites after that, I'll spring for it. :wtf:

Interestingly the BdG scarves from SS19 that look like they maybe made the same way are not called Eyeliner, just Finesse. We shall wait to here from @doni to see if they're just a different design but have Eyeliner properties.

Here is the red BdG cw from the US h.com

And why 'Eyeliner' I don't know, H's explanation is such a afterthought: Who does their eyeliner in stripes, checks or windowpane? H logic.

The designs, delicately rendered like a streak of Eyeliner, are printed on twill in which a thread of colour creates original combinations of stripes, checks and gingham!

I noticed that and this is why I think I was confused with this post at first.
But if you notice, the explanation in the website says:

Scarf in silk twill with hand rolled edges (100% silk).
The design is delicately illustrated like a streak of eyeliner creating a thread of colorful original combinations of stripes.

Funnily, I found this when looking at the UK site for the English version. I thought I would find the translation of the text of my German site. But it is not exactly so: the text in the German page more explicitely says:

Seidentuch aus Eyeliner-Twill, 100 %
(or, silk scarf from Eyeliner-Twill)

Of course, being as I am a geek, I had to look up the French site, where you find the same text as in the German:

Carré en twill eyeliner 100 % soie roulotté à la main.
Le dessin traité en finesse comme un trait d'Eyeliner est
imprimé sur un twill dans lequel un fil de couleur vient créer des associations inédites de rayures !

So I guess Finnese scarf = Eyeliner Twill

Oh le monde d'Hermes!

I see this now... Indeed, it doesn't look ANYTHING like eyeliner . :P
