I am so happy to see this thread! I thought I was alone in my issues! After oogling and coveting my two major bag (1st a Fendi peek-a-boo, 2nd a Chanel reissue) purchases for years. I bought them. These were well thought out purchase. Yet still I was stresses and only enjoyed my bags in the closet. It takes me about 3 months to actually start using the bag. Regardless of how excited I was to finally make the purchase! Thanks to my dear criend and tpf member- i got over it and started enjoying them! Now I use them every chance I get. Which generally is the weekend. I'm still not comfortable to carry these high end purchases in front of my customers.

Great thread. My parents always did the same thing. Saved everything for that special day that never came. I feel like we should use and enjoy what we have. Enjoy those things in our daily life. Right now I have not been carrying my designers much but I have had 2 LV in the past and was always a little afraid to use them. Afraid to "ruin" them. I would buy a bag and wait until the sewon came to use them. My friend never understood my restraint. Lol. She would stuff her things in right away. I can wait. Right now I am lusting over some UGG bags that will suit my school year mommy PTO lifestyle. Lol. I tend to baby my bags anyway. :-)

I recently bought a Chanel Westminster flap bag, and I'm terrified that the lambskin will get scratched or the pearl strap will snap. I take the subway downtown to work and it's always packed, so I've learned to be a "defensive" bag holder during rush hour. I take my bag off of my shoulder and hold it in my hands. People are ruthless and there are days where I feel like people intentionally run into my bag out of spite... Can be a traumatic experience, and then I'll use a boring Longchamp for months on end :(
