They even have 'replica' and 'fake outlet' in their own description. FAKE it means NOT Gucci

Hi, I am getting ready to bid on a Gucci on Ebay. I have done some research through this forum since this will be my first Gucci purse, I am usually an LV fan but thought I would venture into new territory for once:)
Regarding the serial numbers, I understand they need to e 4-6 characters in length for both lines. However in doing some research on another site, it states that 99% of Gucci bags that have a serial number starting with a "0", "1" or "2" are fake, is this true?
I will try and post in the Authenticate this section but I know there is not much time before the auction ends. Really curious about the serial number question.

The little black tag doesn't necessarily indicate anything... I have authentic pieces (purchased direct from Gucci) with that tag. It doesn't make it fake... but it doesn't make it real, either.

Hi all I've just bought Gucci Vintage web medium and the serial number is 6 digits above and 6 digits bottom. The six digits above is the code of model or style of the bag and the six digits bottom is the code of serial number of the bag.

My question is there any possibilities of 2 bag having the same serial number/6 digits bottom ??

I found that the sukey bag sell at ebay have the same serial number with mine.

Bottom digits are supplier code.

I have a question regarding serial numbers. I just won an auction and the serial number is 002-39-0069. I have not yet paid. Here is the link to the auction that I won:

I had my eye on the same model bag for comparison, but now realize that it has the same exact serial number! Here it the link to that auction:

I posted my request on the authentication forum, but the authenticator does not authenticate vintage bags.

Should I be alarmed that two bags in the same style have the same serial number? And what do these serial number mean (date/style/location)? Can any vintage collectors tell me if there are any red flags?
