Gucci Price Increases

I'm in the U.S. and I happened to call my local Gucci boutique yesterday to inquire about a handbag (my first Gucci purchase so I'm excited!) and I was also informed of an upcoming price increase within the next week or so.

That’s so exciting! I am looking at a Velvet Marmont but I’m worried about the wear but I absolutely love it!

The velvet Marmont is really nice! I decided to get the Soho Disco in red.

My SA said that there will be a 15% price increase soon. She did indicate that the GG Marmont belt and bags will be going up. I didn’t ask about shoes or RTW, but from how she said it, the increase could be across the board.

I’m not sure if this was just a sales tactic, but it seemed genuine. The Marmont flap I got when it first came out is now $190 more, so a price increase wouldn’t surprise me.

The SA I spoke to yesterday mentioned the Dionysus and Marmont as increasing. It seems like Gucci are now going to start increasing their products twice a year which is disappointing

I called London Bond Street and they said no price increase is imminent. They already had one before Easter.

I'd welcome any other intel from the UK, if anyone else has heard about this?

I have my eyes on a marmont camera bag in May/June so I'd bring that purchase forward if there is such a sharp potential increase in the offing. 15% in one year, as cited by @amozo would be a huge increment!

Yeah, I think they’re taking advantage of the fact that they’re a hot brand right now especially with the Marmont and Disco bags. They figure people are willing to pay the higher prices.

Does anyone know if it the whole marmont line? Because I'm wanting to get the marmont camera bag. If it is included I may have to get it before Tuesday eep!

I’m in the US and my SA said the price increase goes into effect April 15th. I was going to wait, since I just bought a handbag, but I ordered the Jordaan loafers today.

I wonder if this price increase will include the Ophidia line. I am thinking about the mini camera bag for $990 in suede. I wouldn't pay more than that.
