^^ I'm the type to wear a single bag for months on end until I get sick of it and change, and I did the big swap over a couple of days ago now.
I had been using a
prada double zip cosmetic case (bluette saffiano 18cm long with leather strap) and I almost wept changing out of that bag as it is the most practical and hardy minibag ever. HG status but had to move on as I was desperate for a change.
So at first I was annoyed that there is only a single compartment. This means that paper receipts and loose change (no space for my full wallet) has to all get tipped into the single compartment. After the convenience of the two compartments in my prada I wasn't happy about that and I started to wonder if the bag is in fact a 'special occasions only' bag, which doesn't work for me.
But I pressed on and of course I am getting used to it and in a few days I suppose it will no longer bother me. I found a little squashy leather pouch to put my coins.
My sunglasses will not fit in the bag but they didn't fit in my last bag either.
The wear on the gold is something that worries me. I would have preferred silver hw tbh as I was concerned the gold was just a little flashy for my everyday. But I couldn't go past the practicality and cool of the canvas paired back with the light pink trim. It seemed the perfect souvenir of
gucci's new director and the company's revival-type success.
I decided that perhaps this bag would age elegantly and that I wouldn't care of the gold scrapes off on the chain etc over time. ?! Interested to hear other peoples' opinions on that. In the past I have found that gold toned chain bags have actually worn pretty well over years. But of course they do wear.
The gold is a bright gold, not pale. It is very pretty!! However I did end up taking the bright pink key fob off (for now) as I felt that with the bright gold hw the bag was a little flashy for constant use and I wanted to tone it down somehow by removing an element. After removing the lovely key fob I did feel better about being out and about with this lovely bag as an everyday thing.
The bag is quite stiff out of the box. I can see it softening up a little but of course it is quite structured (which I like). At first the closure seemed a little bit of a fiddle but I have learned that if you simply push on the top of your bag and push the lock at the same time, it closes pretty quickly. It is easy to open and close once you get a little familiar with it.
I will post pictures later but I hope this helps
