Gucci or Tag Heuer watch?

I had both and I used to work as a fine watch specialist at Macy's while attending Uni. I can tell you that we knew what were good and not so good watches, Tags never had problems, I love them, not always the style for women but some look great but they are great watches. Guccis have a lot more problems and they were looked down on by most people who had knowledge about watches. I do like many Guccis though and I definitely love the style of many. I owned both (gifts from the companies), the Gucci I had was a lot more me as far as style goes but the Tag was a basic and I am anything but sporty. I would still recommend you get a Tag if you like the style.

I know I commented a few years ago, but have had three Tag watches since then! Love them but for some reason the date function never seems to show the right date (on all three watches). Maybe I need to send it in for a service.

Here is my Tag Aquaracer in stainless steel with pink MOP face, diamond markers and diamond bezel.

I am in love with an Omega watch at the moment and generally prefer the bigger, chunkier watches of today. However, I bought THIS watch 25 years ago and it is still in great condition and working perfectly. I wore it every single day for about 20 years and still wear it occasionally now. I also have a Stainless Steel Gucci that I now wear almost every day. Gucci watches may come from a Fashion House and they may only come in quartz, but that's not to say that they are not hardy and robust. Out of your two choices, my advice is to get the watch that feels best and most attractive on your wrist.

So pleased to hear it

Set the date with the quick set function (unscrew and pull out one click. (The second hand will still be moving). Then turn the crown to the day before the actual day. THEN pull the stem all the way out and run the hands around forward until the date changes and set the time properly from there. (Be sure you are in AM or PM, as appropriate). You shouldn’t have a problem until you have a month with less than 31 days. Then just repeat.

I have a Tag, and a few Victorinox Swiss watches, and have had good luck with this procedure.

I brought my gucci to a pawnshop once but they told me they dont buy gucci if its a ladys watch. They told me it has a lowest resale value. They only accept gucci for men. But they do accept tagheuer regardless if its lady or men watch.

Ladies watches used to be much less at resale across the board, that's changed recently. There's nothing wrong with Gucci watches as a fashion watch. Personally, I see no point in buying anything that's not mechanical, may as well use my phone. As fashion watches go Gucci have a very good rep and are not hideously expensive. Against any 'proper' watch, then naturally a mechanical watch is more interesting but both tell the time and sometimes a quartz is less hassle.

I own watches from both brands. My first "real" watch was a Gucci. I adored it and I wore it to death. However, in comparing the two, my Tag watch is better made (in my opinion) so I would go for a Tag.
