With regards to referrals, Matchesfashion told one customer yesterday that I wasn't registered for the refer a friend program and that is why the code did not work. This absolutely nonsense as I have referred at least 4 people and it has worked. Absolute crap! Once I sort my bag out, I will give them a piece of my mind. . .
Have they since confirmed that your replacement is on its way to you now?

I received an email saying that the replacement bag was being prepared for shipment; they also apologised because they cannot give me the Gucci boxes that I wanted - strange but true I like store my bags and shoes in the matching dust bags and individual boxes.

I replied back by saying that I was disappointed that 2 Gucci boxes could not be sourced for me considering Matchesfashion was an official supplier.

I am being too difficult?

By the way they have had my replacement bag for a week. . .

You can try and ask Gucci directly for a box if it bothers you. I have never received any Gucci boxes for my Matches purchases, but it wasn't a big deal to me.

It is not recommended to store leather bags in their boxes as it does not allow the leather to breathe. A dust bag would suffice.

No, I don't think you are being too difficult. It's a big order value (you ordered 2) and any company in their right minds would be hoping for repeat business.
To have your bag for 1 week is ridiculous without yet having the replacement leave them. What on earth is taking them so long? I wonder whether they ever did keep one back or they had to source from scratch?
I ought to have posted mine back today but had a worry in the back of my mind that they wouldnt have one 'saved' by for me after all and i'd have a big old delay or worst still no bag and a refund. Didn't know whether i should just suffer the rough area of inking, the litle dip and carefully wash the dustbag to remove the black stain?????...........

Thanks for asking. I would send it back asap, they HAVE to source one for you. I think the delay was perhaps sourcing the boxes?

I have also been told this but my oldest designer bag is a Ferragamo and it's been stored in the dust bag and box for 17 years. The bag looks absolutely brand new. You are right, not a deal breaker, however I love my original boxes lol

Luxury products should have luxury service right? It could be possible that they don't receive the packaging when the shipments are received from Gucci. I do know that at least in my past experience working for a department store that purchased Prada wholesale for it to sell directly, ALL the packaging came with it the products - so those big heavy saffiano boxes came with each bag. The boxes were being thrown out though and the department stores' packing used instead! Maybe it's just a logistics matter that no one really wants to much around in.
