Early '90s bags were amazing, they went back to the astounding quality and difficult to make bags including the BTH and the (now called) Lady Lock. That;s the era to buy pre-loved if you can find them. TF came up with the BTH back pack which have just been re-introduced
http://www.gucci.com/uk/category/f/handbags/backpacks_eu. When TF was made Creative Director the accessories changed a lot, very hit and miss between 1995-2002. Mostly they were just very large or tiny black bags, but then minimalism was the fashion. Under TF, Frida Giannini was brought in to give the bags/shoes some much needed attention in 2002 (she created the Baguette at
Fendi before being head hunted by Gucci).
I don't have many TF as CD era bags because my mother bought more in SF and Chanel at that time. Which was much to my disappointment LOL, the minute I could I bought TF RTW. Some is in my private albums like my TF black calf hair jacket, a couple of other black (of course) leather jackets are also his. I haven't a pic of my 2002 springbok jacket, I'll take pics when I can. My mother loves fabulous brightly coloured leather soft hobos and med shoulder bags. Most of TFs bags were very thick, hard, highly polished and mainly
BLACK.
There's a book called
Gucci: The making of which is pretty good. But I notice that Tom Ford was almost a dirty word, very little about his work for Gucci. My other TF era bags were designed by FG
I haven't taken a BTH family pic yet, I should do that, good idea. I have over 30 Gucci bags so I doubt they'd fit in one pic

Send me a friend request and you can see them from my private albums if you like. Not all my bags are there but I think I managed all my Guccis.
Really sorry about the bamboo scarves

. Did you see the bamboo design with the scarves/sails in between? Lovely for Summer no?

Thank you
Elaine, such kind words. That bag comes out every Summer and always receives many compliments, as I'm sure does your beautiful bamboo shopper
Thank you

I'm pleased to say, it's also a very well made piece (can you imagine sewing and hand-knotting all that patent leather

) I think you put your finger on it, past the commercial pieces, I always think Gucci has a little edge.
