Grrr...I'm fuming! My ebay bag is a fake!

Now I'm really starting to question it myself. I'm going through the listings on ebay and they all seem to have this misspelling. So either they are all fakes or it is a Coach misspelling. I don't know :shrugs:

I'm going to feel awful if I sent off an email accusing the seller of selling me a fake bag and it is acutally real, though I tried to be nice in my email.

Can you email Coach the pictures of your bag?

I guess I could email pics to Coach but would they even respond? I'm not sure. I just went through every listing I could find on ebay and all of the camel and berry ones have a creed that says "commiment" while the pink ones have a creed that says "commitment". And not every listing has a picture of the creed.

So I don't know what to think now *sigh* :shrugs: :confused1:

I hope it's real! It sure is strange that the outlet stamp is right over the misspelling... are the ones you have seen all stamped in that spot as well? I can't imagine Coach misspelling something -- always thought it was a machine or something that stamped it in and they wouldn't create a new one each time they made a style...

The seller sells certain Gucci bags over and over again. That usually makes me run the other way immediately -- but I know some sellers DO sell authentic that way when they bought out a store or something... :)

Good luck! I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is real!

I was just at the outlet on Thursday. I remember seeing both suede bags there, but in a deep burgundy red. I didn't look at the Creed, but if like someone said above it ended up in the outlets because of misspellings it would make semi-sense. I hope you find out!

Honestly, I think the bag is authentic and I think you jumped the gun by accusing the seller of selling you a fake bag without getting it properly authenticated. I think you need to take it to a Coach outlet (or retail store) if you need some reassurance.

Yes, I'm starting to think so too. I feel terrible now. The seller responded to me and said it CAN'T be fake because she bought it at a Coach outlet (she was very nice about it). I've examined it up and down and everything else looks perfect, I can't find a stitch out of place on the rest of the bag so I'm thinking I spoke too soon. And of those I saw on ebay, some had the outlet stamp over the misspelling and some didn't. Some didn't have an outlet stamp at all.

I feel like such a boob! :push: Thanks to everyone for helping me though. I owe the seller a HUGE apology!

Nah, don't feel like a boob. Email the seller and tell her that you made a mistake and that you are sorry for accusing her of selling you a fake. Just tell her the truth - that you freaked out when you saw that there was a misspelling on the creed and, in light of all of the fakes on eBay, you wrongly assumed this was fake. I am sure she'll understand.

The funny thing is that I have NEVER ever read a creed on any of my bags. They could all have a bunch of jibberish written on them and I wouldn't know the difference. :p

I've done the same thing. Very few of the bags even show a photo of the creed patch, maybe because the sellers noticed the spelling problem. I've found one bag with the correct spelling which was made at a different plant, and two bags with the same incorrect spelling as on yours, and I've only looked at maybe half of the ones listed. I think this is a plant error, which may be why yours has the outlet stamp right over the misspelling instead of where they always put the stamp.

You might try calling Coach although they may not want to admit that their bags had a spelling error, or if you have an outlet close by take it there and ask since it seems all these bags came from the outlets.

Lol! Yes, I did just email the seller again apologizing and explaining. She probably thinks I'm nuts. She also just sent me a scanned copy of her receipt from the outlet when she originally purchased this just to make me feel better. She didn't even have to but it's nice that she did that too. She has been great about this and I will definitely leave her glowing feedback.

Oh well, that's what I get for jumping the gun :push:
