The Marc Jacobs Blake proved to be too much for me. When carrying it, I TRIED to look cute when really, I thought I would pass out. Although I was the owner, my husband ended up carrying it a lot more than I did! Had to get rid of that baby after only 2 or 3 months tops!

You guys are too funny. I only had the Botkier Trigger - I was banging into unsuspecting people too. So heavy my family laughed at me. I cannot enjoy a bag that is that heavy. It is just not practical no matter how cute!

Wow...you don't realize sometimes how heavy these bags are until you carry them or hear someone's story.

I was really thinking about a Marc Jacobs bag, but too many votes about now.

WAIT!!!! You already know my thoughts about the Edith, but I have to add my 2 cents about MJ!!!

I have the MJ Blake and I love it! I don't find it too heavy because I can wear it comfortably on my shoulder. In fact, it has proven to be a great everyday bag for work for me (so I can skip the briefcase). So, don't rule out MJ!!! But the Blake, Venetia, Multipocket and the Cinched Tote (and some of the newer totes) are pretty heavy, but fabulous nonetheless!!!

Agree with Jag! =) If you can carry heavy bags like Paddy (the lock), you should be fine with most MJ bags. If weigh is a concern, pick those with little hardware (no brass chain) & canvas lining.

Marc Jacobs, but I :love: them all the same.

If you are looking for a lighter MJ, look for the older versions that have cloth, rather than suede, lining.
