It’s so weird that Loewe’s Insta account just featured the original style small puzzle in blue. Why promote it if it’s going away?
Who really confirmed that it was going away anyway? Maybe they’re just making the edge in other leather now (use to be available in nappa or goat only). Perhaps the original will still be available but just in some colors and lesser stock being produced? :confused1::hrmm:

I just went to Insta to look at it. This blue bag was a satin leather? Loewe does a lot of creative work with satin, maybe they won't let this leather go Edge and preserve the original shape only in satin leather?

It’s definitely going away, it’s just being phased out slowly. You can also see the edge is no longer called the edge on their website - just called the puzzle. Also, some neutral colors are no longer available in any size in the original puzzle (black and grey only available in edge)

I saw the opposite, actually I was surprised that there were a lot new colors with the old regular models, as I also thought they wanted to phase out the old model.
I myself also prefer the old model. I actually already panik bought a sand medium puzzle back in May and it was the best bag buy for the whole year (and I bought a lot from Loewe and LVs limited editions...). I nearly use it always except for work (too small for that purpose).
I'm in Canada and it's 90% gone. I prefer the older model too, and the colours for those have significantly reduced to 3 colours now ):

Agreed not a fan of the new style. Doesn't showcase the craftsmanship at all.

I was in a Sydney boutique recently and the assist was framing up that the edge is am improvement and will be permanent. The original will be gone once sold out.
Kindly add me to the list of fans of the original puzzle bags and the list of panic buyers. Just a few months ago the puzzle had never been on my radar. Now I’ve got three new original mni puzzles (White, Pearl Grey and Black) and a new original small Black puzzle. This minimalist masterpiece is my new “Go To” choice. These Loewe puzzle bags are making my other bags very jealous, since those other bags seldom see the light of day.

I think it may be time for a ruthless edit of my handbag collection, keeping only the Loewe Puzzles; three Hermes bags — 28 Sellier BBK; Anemone TPM Evelyne; a Black CDC Cinhetic Clutch — and three Chanel bags — SO Black Lamb Skin Rectangular Mini; Black Caviar WOC, and an SO Black Lamb Skin Jumbo (for when the pendulum swings back to larger bags).

I hate the Edge and I think it’s only maybe kind of cute in the mini version. Any larger than mini and I find it unattractive. I’m so happy I got my Small Puzzle in tan in January 2020 at SSENSE. They were having some weird pricing error on their website on all Puzzle bags I got mine for $1950 (including tax). Now that bag is $3250 (excluding tax) and in NYC it would be just over $3500! So I saved $1500…it’s crazy how much things have gone up. I regret not also buying the caramel with gold hardware back then.

Original design is the only “puzzle” design I can appreciate. I bought a black smooth and 2 grained ( sand and light caramel ) small puzzles. My puzzles and Celine bags are worn daily unlike my Chanels, for example. They are perfect casual luxury bags.

The softness and slouch of the original puzzle is a daily pleasure to touch and handle for me personally. I tried the edge at my NM - it’s more rigid and a tad more “wooden” feeling bag. I also think original puzzle is more intricate and attractive looking unlike its simpler “edge” version.

I just had a moment of weakness after telling myself I couldn’t justify getting a mini and should shop pre-loved.

24S in my country have the original minis at 10% below retail, and I’ve been looking for the black which never seems to be included in deals. So I’ve gone for it - definitely FOMO because of the phase out.
