i just purchased a 6.5 ct tennis bracelet color was g-h SI-1 this past summer for 4400 from the diamond district in ny...i guess i would take a look at the one he is offering you...but i feel like you should be able to do better...

What are the cuts of the stones. That is more important... I rather have the best cut diamonds than a higher color. I would even go lower in color.

I would only buy lower colors if the stones were ideal cut--i.e Brian Gavin stones or otherwise certed.

Wow sounds like an amazing deal. I've been looking at tennis bracelets of similar specs from blue nile and they are about the $11k range... And I thought online jewelers were supposed to be way cheaper than brick-and-mortar!

Make sure that you are comparing all aspects. Besides cut, color, and clarity, the size of melees also affects price. For the same total carrat weights, many small melees would cost less than smaller number of bigger diamonds. The per carat price jumps.

Why the aversion to J? Many J's are quite white, especially at the size you are wanting for this bracelet. The clarity you are looking at (VVS) is WAY overkill, especially for a bracelet. VS is probably better.

The key is to get ideal cut and well cut stones. CUT is where sparkle happens. Color and most clarities won't affect sparkle, espec above an SI1 clarity. So if you get a D FL stone that is cut like crap, it won't sparkle like a J VVS1 that is cut fabulously well.

Thanks ame! Hope bracelet is available after 1st of the year. I am paying off a lot of 12 month no interest cards that are all coming due in the next 6-8 weeks. So if this bracelet was meant to be, it'll be there when I'm ready! Still hope to see it in person real soon.

A 4.25 tcw. - diamonds are I-J color with VS2-SI clarity for $3800 before tax.
Is this a good deal? Little concerned with the J and the SI. Going to see in person in 2 weeks. Thoughts?

Interesting find - I've been searching tennis bracelets here. Last October - this same jeweler had this exact bracelet priced at $4400. I never looked at it in person cause I had the same concern about I-J color. Now the price (almost a year later) is $3800. I wonder if gold is down and if I can talk him down even lower.

Bringing back this very old thread! This bracelet is still there! But now it costs $3800! Wish I had time in my schedule tomorrow to see it. Perhaps Friday......
