I know! I still haven't gotten over the shock quite yet. Urgh, I'm so mad at myself! This always happens to my favourite bags! My lipstick b sustained a similar scratch when I opened the car door. It just fell off the seat, face down onto the pavement!

OMG I can't take it !!! So sad!!! Face planting a Birkin is bag abuse! I will have to call HPS (Hermes Protective Service). Sorry, trying to make a joke during sad situation. Bad joke. :hugs:

I am so sorry to hear that. I had a similar situation happen to my b. The turn lock was scratched and dented. The damage was so bad that the edge of the turn lock became quite sharp and scratchy. I brought it to the Madison store to have it fixed. Although there were three craftsmen in the store, they said that they could not repair it on site. It had to be sent to Paris. In order to fix it, the turn lock had to be completely replaced, which means the craftsman will need to take apart the entire front piece of the bag, replace the hardware, then sew the leather back together. The whole process will take at least six months...

I was advised to enjoy my b for now. Use it until later, when it is in need of major leather maintenance, then bring it back and have all the issues fixed at once. I know it is just something that will annoy and bother you, but unless you are fine with parting with your bag for at least half a year, enjoy it for now.

😀 Thanks for trying to alleviate the pain. When my k went flying yesterday and then took a dive face down, it was like watching a horror movie in slow motion. Then having to peel it off the rough surface was just painful. 😢

Great advice amka, I think my SM would've said the same because I remembered bringing a bag in to have the corners redone, she advised me to use it till it really needs major refurbishment. I think it just takes too long for most people. Whilst it pained me so, I'm secretly glad that wasn't my croc k that went flying. Otherwise it would be a whole different level of pain..!
