Glamour Puss in Boots! The Official Ode to H Boots Thread!!!

I should have checked this thread before making some impromptu boot purchases... I purchased the Neo and Volver boots yesterday and took the Neo boots out for some errands today. With just a quick walk across a parking lot and down some sidewalks, the sole is already suffering. The leather at the toe box is flaking too. I am planning on bringing these in to a cobbler, but would folks recommend vibram soles for the Volver boots and Frenchie boots as well? The Frenchies look a little thicker in the sole, but as of now I am leaning towards a definite yes on the Volvers. Would love to hear experiences!

I had Vibram soles added to my Duo boots (which are like Volvers but flat) soon after purchase. Only had benefits, no downsides.

I generally don't mind scuffing the soles like in your picture, but somehow find the added height from additional protective sole help to "lift" the toe from the ground when I walk, which minimises the risk of scuffing the leather upper around the point/toe box, and that is what I care most about.

I also find leather soles so slippery, so Vibrams help grip, especially in rainy winters.

I've seen a couple upthread, but does anyone have any more pics of styling with the Fresh boots? I have already splurged on Veo boots and two pairs of sneakers this season, but chanced upon a pair of black Fresh boots in my size, so looking for reasons to keep Fresh as well

They are definitely more casual, but also so lightweight and potentially more "weatherproof" (at least relative to other Hermes boots), so appeal to me for those days where I can't deal with chunky boot heaviness. However, I'm also thinking they might be a bit too casual for my everyday, even if I swap out the laces for all black.

Hey! Love the boots definitely keep em!
Wanted to know what size I should go for in them? I wear 38 in Orans and mostly all Hermes sandals and a 38.5 in the day sneaker. Really wanna get these but confused about sizing

Hi!

Can anyone share their experience with the Volver 60 ankle boot? Or point me in the right direction on where to find this information?

I've never tried sock-type booties before and was wondering if the fabric stays "stretched" in an unflattering way even when it's not worn? So I guess I'm basically asking if the elasticity of the fabric wears down after a couple of seasons.

My SA is tracking this down for me in a size 35 and I think at this point I'm trying to talk myself out of it since it's been so difficult to find in my size and I already have the saint germain (which is I know is totally different!). But I might want it more based on your thoughts!

Thanks in advance!

I love the Volver boots and wear them both sockless or with a thin sock. I haven't had any issues with the fabric stretching, but I have only owned them for a about a month (with 3-4 wears per week so far--obsessed with them). The fit is really comfortable around the foot and I never feel like sliding my foot in is causing any stretch on the fabric. Hopefully someone else that has owned these longer can chime in, but I am a huge fan!

Thanks for your feedback!

Do you also notice any pilling happening at the ankle area (where it could rub against pants)? I couldn't tell if the weave or fabric itself could minimize or prevent that from happening. Thanks again!

I haven't noticed any and I'll pull skinny jeans over them. Here's how they look today, the shape at the top is holding up well. There are creases from when I bend my ankles, but I like that these boots have flexibility so that I can drive in them. I really struggle to drive when I wear the Neo boots lol.
