I should have checked this thread before making some impromptu boot purchases... I purchased the Neo and Volver boots yesterday and took the Neo boots out for some errands today. With just a quick walk across a parking lot and down some sidewalks, the sole is already suffering. The leather at the toe box is flaking too. I am planning on bringing these in to a cobbler, but would folks recommend vibram soles for the Volver boots and Frenchie boots as well? The Frenchies look a little thicker in the sole, but as of now I am leaning towards a definite yes on the Volvers. Would love to hear experiences!

I had Vibram soles added to my Duo boots (which are like Volvers but flat) soon after purchase. Only had benefits, no downsides.
I generally don't mind scuffing the soles like in your picture, but somehow find the added height from additional protective sole help to "lift" the toe from the ground when I walk, which minimises the risk of scuffing the leather upper around the point/toe box, and that is what I care most about.
I also find leather soles so slippery, so Vibrams help grip, especially in rainy winters.
