I'm thinking of investing in a smaller men's or midsize Rolex. This would be an automatic watch so better to keep it running if worn every day plus at this price I'd want to get my good out of it.

Do you think a large stainless watch goes with pretty much anything you wear (with the exception of dressy evening wear)?

I wear a 36mm SS rolex, large SS roadster plus a few others that are all big watches & yes I wear them every day but I have got a midsize SS tank that I can wear for more formal occasions, but I think you can get away with bigger watches to formal events nowadays but maybe you should go for the midsize Rolex as you can wear it every day & to formal function but I would try them both on & see which you prefer.

You don't need to wear an automatic watch everyday you can get a winder box to keep it wound up, I've got 4 automatics & they don't all fit on my winder box as DH has got 2 & it only holds 3, it doesn't damage the watch as long as you give it a wind up every so often.

I don't wear this everyday but I frequently wear my fiance's Panerai which I think is stainless steel. I love it wearing it! But it does feel clumsy sometimes....
This is a BIG watch though.

Same except that it's mine. It's a 42mm on a black strap. I think the same style on a bracelet would be too overwhelming though. I also tried a 45mm panerai before that and it really was too big. I'm a petite girl (5'2"), but I love big watches :)

Most my watches are a large ladies (sized like a mans, but pearly or sparkly like a womans) but I just got my first actual Gent's watch! It's a Tissot

All my everyday watches are 35mm+ which I think would classify them as mens size. I'm thin, 5' 8" and 110lbs with a tiny 5" wrist and It still looks great, up to about 40mm..that's my max. I wear them everyday and have for 3 or 4 years now. The only time I wear a womens watch is around water because my dive watch is a womans (wish I had bought a mans..but I wanted pink:wacko:), or on formal occasions .
I say go for it. I love the look and feel of a mens sized watch. And I do feeli it goes with all my everyday outfits as well as "going out" outfits.

alexcluvlv - We are watch twins I think! Is yours a mid-size? I never saw anyone else with my exact watch. But I think mine is called Rhodium Roman not silver Roman. Is there a difference?

At first I tried on a midsize (31 mm) and thought that that's what I wanted but then I tried on DH's Omega Seamaster (the 36mm size, unisex size I think is what it's referred to) and really liked it better. So I went back to Ben Bridge to try on the men's 36mm size and decided that I definitely like the bigger size :graucho:. Btw, mine is the Silver Roman dial. I think the Rhodium dial is a lighter-colored silver/gray compared to the Silver dial.

That watch looks great on you. Would you mind disclosing the model name or number for it? I'm looking at higher end watches right now but this one is making me think twice....if I don't find an automatic watch that I love, maybe something like yours would suit me.
Thanks
