Gift card from boutique - can I use at leased locations in dept stores?

Question for tPf members -


I have gift cards from a boutique (returned an item for credit). Do you know if I can use them at Neiman Marcus leased location or can I use at boutique locations only?

I think only the boutiques. I once called Chanel's customer service line and the representative was looking into my purchase history - she could only see what I've purchased in the boutiques. Leads me to believe the store credit is only within chanel ( not their leased locations)
