Is the Marmont with the silver hardware a newer version? Does anyone know when it was released? I’m having a hard time deciding between the two styles. I love the chevron stitching on the one, but love the silver hardware on the other. Anyone have both that can give some suggestions?

Yes, it is a newer version. Maybe released about a year ago? Whereas the original one with the chevron stitching and the ghw has been around for a few years now.
I’m thinking about purchasing a cream small Marmont. Flap version or zip top?

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if you know whether Gucci has used a lighter chain on newer Gucci Marmont. I purchased 2 preloved bags at the same time recently: a red Marmont flap and a black small camera style. They were purchased from Japan through eBay. Everything seems to check out as far as authenticity and the camera bag even came with a receipt from a department store. But I’m just a bit baffled that the chain on the camera bag seems lighter and has more of a matte finish. Based on the packaging (box and dust bag) I can tell that it’s newer than the red flap, which has a heavier, a bit shiny chain strap. I searched all over the internet for the info but can’t find anything. Thanks!

I have a mini chain bag and the hardware is shiner than the hardware on my small flap.

The stitching looks a bit weird to me for the camera bag but maybe it’s just angle or lighting, or maybe it has been done slightly differently since 2018-19 when I got mine

I am looking into Gucci for the very first time (although having admired the marmont flap since it came out).
I might have the chance to see the marmont in person shortly and wondered if long time owners still love, use and would repurchase theirs in summer 2022.
Is there any chance someone still knows the pre-price increase amount in Euros for the regular small marmont flap bag from about a month ago?
I know its 2000€ today.

It’s popularity is definitely not at its peak, but I think depending what you get it’s a classic. It’s a great Chanel flap alternative price wise. Lots of nice bags out there but I think the trend peak of it is over and I would consider it a classic. I love mine and used it today.
Some people just like having the newest bag. This isn’t it if that’s what you want, but i love the marmont line. They are so functional Great bag
Absolutely agree. And I kind of like that no major “influencer” has it or talks about it anymore. To me it has a classic shape and it has been around for years now. I am considering the small in dusty pink.
I am intrigued to try a new brand and came to consider the marmont, because it was one of the bags I lusted after when getting into lux bags for the first time in 2017.
It was called “trendy” back then and LV was much cheaper at the time ….so I started collecting “classics” like the LV Speedy, Noè etc…
I even have a few Chanel bags now and am still lusting after the marmont now and then- I think that’s a sign.…second choice would be a YSL LouLou.
I will be going to the boutiques hopefully next week.
