I have these two and no issues at all with tarnishing or scratching on the GG. The red one was purchased recently, however preloved dating back to 2016.

I’ve had this one in black for about 3 years. The gold hardware is more matte-looking, almost like aged brass. It’s not that shiny, so even if it gets scratched it doesn’t show. Although I had no issues with peeling or anything. Leather holds up well too. Given with the creasing on my YSL quilted Loulou for example I’d say the Gucci one holds better
I have both of these bags, and like both. You really can’t go wrong with either one. The Gucci is a bit shorter since it has the rounded corners, but is a tad deeper. They fit pretty much the same. The inside pocket on the Lou camera bag is larger. The hardware on both will be more vintage/aged, and will hold up well.
I am wondeirng if anyone here owns both a medium and a small marmont flap? I am trying to decide which one to get as my very first luxury bag and though I have always wanted the medium I am suddenly wondering if it is too big?! I really don't go out at night very much (mum of 4!) and being a mum I also wonder if the small is going to give me anxiety of not haivng somewhere to stash the odd kids item if we are all out together. Would it be insane to aim to own both at some point? I would really want to get it in black so I also wonder if it would be silly to start with a medium and maybe down the track get a small if I ever end up having some kind of social life in the evening lol! I'd love to know if anyone even has other combos of size eg. medium and supermini and which size you tend to grab for the most or maybe which sizes you which you had chosen instead

I purchased the small and immediately returned it for the medium. The small was freakishly small for me. I think the shape of the small flap is unforgiving compared to the zip top small marmont. I could only fit in the card case wallet and a few other items. I even find that the medium has me deciding what to carry, but at least I can fit my sunglasses in the medium- I could not do that in the small. For reference, I'm 5'6 and about 145#.

I wear glasses and sunglasses everyday so that is something I do need to be able to carry. My current bag that I tend to use each day is a small Longchamp Le Pliage and part of me thinks that it might be fun to buy myself a supermini marmont to use as a sunglasses pouch when I use that bag 
Hubby and I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my Medium Marmont!!! I'm so excited because this is my first ever luxury designer bag, and as silly as it may sound I was so emotional to finally be able to get it. Because I'm in Australia I had to pre-order it so I will have to wait a couple of weeks but I can't wait to finallyget my hands on it. In the mean time I will be stalking this forum and counting down the days

Thanks!!! I went with black with gold hardware, because it is so classic but I would love to maybe get a super mini or maybe a wallet in the dusty pink one day. So excited for it to arrive, i keep logging onto the gucci website on the off chance that it may somehow arrive earlier
