I completely understand, and thank goodness we don't have Dean and DeLuca down here, although we are literally "peppered" (no pun intended) with Williams-Sonoma, which is just one big old crack den for foodies. My second favorite place next to H!

Allab, while I admit that bringing it home from Provence would be much more satisfying to the soul, I buy mine at a lovely farm in Sonoma, CA (Petaluma to be exact) - Lavender Bee Farm. (www.lavenderbeefarm.com) They grow varities from Provence and are a lovely little family-owned and operated business.
They also carry dried culinary lavender, lavender sachets, and I just looked at their website, and they have a recipe up for lavender creme brulee, which sounds even more heavenly than the lavender honey ice cream if possible.OH NO! Sorry, Queenlily. I protest! I'm a purist and don't believe in messing with perfection. A good Creme Brulee is perfect as is - please leave it alone!
We had a lovely French bistro across the street for years, and a few years ago they went crazy with the desserts and started putting herbs in everything. Would you believe Rosemary Creme Brulee?
Needless to say, they are now GONE!
I'd consider trying the ice cream, though.

The Charmante aux Animaux carre in the black c/w came in - like the GM I got, but it doesn't have the blue in it. I didn't buy anything!
