The one other thing I didn't like about the GD was the metal buckle hardware that was on the purse. It was kinda chinzy to me. It looked like those buckles that you find on belts that are "free" with the pants. I'm not knocking the purse per se, it just wasn't worth $400 to me. But maybe I've been spoiled by my other bags...

However, I really like the camel one that KK has--I wish I could get that one. The chocolate brown in that purse just wasn't doing it for me...

My thought on them was that it had similar buckles to my Roxanne, but on the Roxanne they were a bit bulkier. I think the size, style and color go with the ambiance of the rest of the bag. If they were any more showy, or bulkier, it would take away from the beauty and classiness of the bag. JMO. :D

That's exactly what I meant when I said I prefer the buckle on the black or dark brown because they are more subtle before I got my bag. Now that I have it, they don't bother me anymore, they don't stand out and do not affect the simple elegance of it.

Balenciaga started growing on me, only I wish I could see them in person and their straps are longer for the shoulder instead of a separate shoulder strap.

Bjara and Greenie, thanks for letting me know about the quality fo KC bags, I was tempted, not anymore though.

Decision still not made...:p I haven't thought about it at all since I logged off from here yesterday afternoon, don't know if it's because I had a dinner party to prepare and had a bit too much to drink  at the end or I just don't feel for the bag anymore:wacko:.

Really love you gals!

For some reason--the buckles on my bag were kinda shiny and didn't look so great against the dark brown. I really like how the camel looks--buckles and all. If you haven't been obsessing about the bag--you're probably happy with it. Whenever I keep re-thinking a bag--it's a sign :p

Yup, very true! :amuse:

I do think that GD has changed the buckle and tassle ornament color recently. The newer ones have "stripes" on the bell ornament, and mine was all smooth and a bit darker. Maybe that is what made you think the colors were off?

Bjara, i never noticed that the newer GD bags have a different bell ornament! Mine has stripes.....how do the "old" ornaments look? Why is the colour so different?

My brown bag above has the older version. It's all smooth, and a bit longer.

The buckles and the studs are exactly the same shape and color on the newer version as on the old. It just seems that the new ornaments are a bit brighter.

I can understand how you feel. I've done that too. You get the bag and you're all excited and then the bag arrives and it's not what you expected. It happens all the time. If you don't love it, return it.

Oh thanks Greenie, your empathy means a lot to me. I thought I was being difficult/indecisive etc.
I won't be able to return it, not to meniton there is no such thing as returning in Europe (except UK), I also can't fly to Paris to do so. So I will have to sell it.
My husband said he thinks I'd regret it if I let it go.

He probably has a point. I think the new GD's that are winding up in the US through BG have the newer hardware and ornamentation. I think that's why I wasn't "sold" with mine... I love your camel--but I understand how you're on the fence--especially since that's how I felt when I finally got my chocolate brown GD. Since you can't return it--wait and see. You might fall in love as the weather gets warmer and you wear lighter colors.

I don't think you were being that way at all! I sent back my Hayden-Harnett Havanna and my Foley + Corinna drawstring just off the top of my head because when they arrived, they just didn't do it for me.

Purchases sight unseen are difficult.

I do have a little piece of advice...if you are at all on the fence about it, wait. Nothing sucks more than selling a handbag and regretting it later.

Plus, you can say this came directly from France, literally!! How many people can say that? :D

I'm thinking that GD has changed the hardware completely. :suspiciou Darelgirls bags have the same "bell" ornament on them that the BG ones do, as does KK's, and both are right from the GD store in Europe. I wonder why? :weird:

:shame: Nope. He's sitting on the couch since last night, I take a glance at him from time to time to see how I feel about him. I also want to feel if I can accept him into the family by him being part of the surrounding. So far, sometimes I think I can, sometimes I just don't like his colour.

Now that I have finally got the awaited Charlotte in Camel, the love/hype seems to have diminished. The bag is great, the leathers is buttery soft, perfect size that can be carried on shoulder. I am thinking I might have chosen the wrong colour, I shouldn't have gotten the dark brown instead. Darelgirl, Divina, please help. Or anyone? Should I keep it?

  I love that color. I'd keep it. That bag is beautiful and soooooo me.
