In terms of fame, sure. In terms of being a name mentioned for future projects -- I think it matters.

I think he is more about making his own projects at this point that he wants to do instead of trying to audition and wait around for someone to call for a movie role, so I don't think it matters much to him at this point in his life. and of course he has several businesses that he is involved in.

I think that if I were his agent trying to make him feel good about the lack of work, that's what I'd tell him. He's not going to need to audition for anything at this point in his career. Everyone knows how he tilts his head to the right and that tells the audience he's saying something serious. He's not as hot as he used to be, and his smugness has shrunk the number of adoring fans who will go see him in anything. He still has appeal to a large audience - no question about it. But he's not the box office draw that he once was, and it's reflected in the fewer offers he gets.

Brad Pitt, Denzel, Will Smith are three who get people in seats for sure.
Even with the slap situation, Bad Boys 2024 made 400 millions worldwide.
surprised you list denzel...I love him but can't think of anything big he's done recently
Not long ago I re-watched the movie where he was the alcoholic airline pilot
