You might get a bill from DHL a few weeks later. I think I was charged around $17 for about $2xx worth of goods. And it wasn't even for a bag. Just a few hang tags and bookmarks, so it arrived in an envelope.

Huh? I ordered two batches of Peanuts stuff from colette and never received a bill from DHL and DHL was fast once they got the package.

I was shocked at how fast I got the DHL package from Colette. And since all the paperwork was on top of the box, I am not expecting additional tax or duties.

I was really impressed with Colette. Their customer service was excellent. I would definitely buy from them again. :smile1:

Was your order amount low? I ordered two or three batches of Peanuts stuff from them, and received a bill of duties for every single one. If it's not the limited edition items I would probably try to order elsewhere, despite the great service.

Lucky for you then. DHL can be a bit inconsistent. I have received some packages from them where I need to pay taxes (and handling fee?) and some where I don't. I'm referring to past packages and not just orders from Colette.

Each package was several hundred dollars. I've never had anything tacked on to any purchases I have made from overseas. I always assumed the U.S. didn't have any kind of fees / taxes for merchandise purchased from overseas for personal use......I have no idea about goods bought for resell.

The US do have fees for these international purchases. That's why I always make sure to shop at places that already have them included for the final price. My packages were a few hundred dollars each too.

I guess the U.S. is like Coach, totally inconsistent. :laugh:

My first order was in September and the second one was the first week of October and so far no bill.......
