I finally got my Alma today. Although it feels completely plasticky, it looks gorgeous. I had some family visit and the vote was to keep, even my husband liked it. I don’t love the feel, but the looks… stunning. Super light, roomy and unique, I am going to sleep on it, but I think I will keep. Nothing in the boutique caught my eye, either too plain, already have, or have seen a thousand times. I also wonder if the coating will make it less prone to color transfer. Decisions decisions.I know, a lot of us were totally surprised to receive patent leather Almas! Whether it’s patent or coating it does not feel like leather. The description on the website was completely wrong, and it was a major disappointment when it arrived for me. However it still smells like gorgeous leather and it’s a fun and lightweight bag to carry and it’s unique. So for all of that I’ve kept mine and I’m really enjoying it, I just wish LV would get better at accurate descriptions and better accurate information. I hope you enjoy yours too, but I think for many of us here it taught us to make sure we ask a bunch of questions to have as much accurate information as we can. I hope you enjoy your little beauty.
I know! I went through all those stages, so I know a bit of what you are going through. It is stunning, and as a silly as it sounds, I sniffed the patent and it smells like luscious leather
It’s a dream to carry, and it is so different I decided to keep it as you know and I really love it. Totally unique as you say, and I love the drawing on it - I even saw a painting in someone’s apartment in a magazine and it looked like the drawing on this little Alma. Sounds like your family thought it was wonderful. It doesn’t read as patent in most light, it looks great. I’m with you - I hope no color transfer either, and I’m thinking if it started it might be easy to gently remove. Good luck with your decision, let us know!
I have the same bag and I say, keep it. As someone who don’t baby a bag, I think the patent makes it easy to clean. I also got petit sac plat (bizarre situation—return rejected!) that has beautiful calf leather instead of the patent, but I imagine it’s very easy for color transfer. I’d be afraid to wear jeans.
I saw onthego in Beverly Hills store. I haven't seen the any blankets.
And of course online the PSP was listed as patent online (which is why I decided not to buy it) and the Alma as matte calfskin
just don’t get how hard it can be to get descriptions right. Oh well, wasn’t the first time won’t be the last! Sounds like you love both bags, congrats!
I just got the Neo Noe and love it. I think it's one of the stars of this collection.
