hummingbird, it looks really purpley in natural light doesn't it? do you get a lot of wear from this bag?

Yes, it looks purply, but that's why i liked it. I have purple/plum/violet scarves. I'm disappointed by the change to brown in indoor lighting. I'm not championing the raisin color for anyone who isn't immediately grabbed by it as I was. I would prefer the *violet* color because I like PURPLE.

As for amount of usage - my default is rouge h or black birkin on a daily basis, mostly because i wear those dark colors year round.

My 35 clemence birkin is lighter than my 35 togo birkin. But I would not have been able to use a birkin when my children were young. I needed a shoulder strap bag. But you seem to be already managing 4 kids and a 35 birkin - wonder woman!

oh yes ostrich is fantastically light, the lightest one i have. to me the fuschia in ostrich is not loud at all, perhaps it is the ostrich bumps that make me think of polka dots? very sweet and pretty and i am averse to loud colors myself but the pink was just irresistible....cognac would be my dream ostrich bag though...

fuchsia is a lot lighter in ostrich than it is in chevre leather, mighty appealing. you don't think, though, that fuchsia is a fashionable color and it won't last 2 or 3 years til its replaced by another "hot" color? a cognac ostrich bag looks too close to a real ostrich skin for my comfort!;) i saw a cognac ostrich flossyfigaro had up for bid on ebay, did you see that?

these are the 2 remaining bags in my wishlist and i'm done for the year! these 2 are the most elusive bags and i couldn't find them until now. i'm afraid that if i pass it up, i won't find them again until a year or two has passed..but i can only afford one so i have to choose :(

If you have a wardrobe of other birkins, then I would say go for the fuchsia ostrich now/first. The prices will go up I'm sure. You already know you like fuchsia. It looks great with navy blue, too, so dark jeans very good. Does it rain alot in Manila? If so, it will be out of commission all during that season. But you imo will always be able to find a raisin 35 birkin - maybe not at the H boutique, but they will be more readily available at resellers. And it doesn't sound like you're too enthused about the raisin color.

your comment on not using a fuchsia daily is right on the mark. you don't use cyclamen much?

Well, I'm old enough to be your children's grandma.

i haven't used black bags for several years now, its a change in my personal taste. i used to think my ultimate birkin would be a black clemence with gold hw but not anymore!

would you believe i'm still undecided until now even with all your wonderful input? my DH votes for the ostrich because he thinks it will sell better later on if i decide to sell it but that's not how i like to think when i buy my bags! with 3 daughters, i can pass it on as an heirloom to anyone of them! men!

I would surely choose the fuchsia ostrich. I have three very small children myself. There are numerous reasons to choose it and very few not to choose it. In the end, if I had to sell my fuchsia kelly I would. Maybe you could sell the Kelly and pick up the 35 raisin as well. Sure is a great thought!

My vote is most definitely the ostrich without doubt!

hummingbird, you're too funny! i think anyone of any age can wear cyclamen. (my mom doesn't think so though and sticks to basic beige and black) believe it or not, i really still like the raisin. i like both! that's the problem!

After much trial and error, I have figured out that my ideal H collection comes down to 30/35 birkin, sellier kelly, and rigide bolide. All in rouge H and black. If I had to choose one happy color in addition to those basics, I would take fuchsia/cyclamen over vermillion red, vert anis, bj, orange, yellow etc.

I think the birkin is a casual bag - in 35 cm - so the fuchsia color is great at your age. Time enough before you'll be wearing all the black and rouge H. You haven't mentioned brown. Look at my ebene kelly - not like brown? Then don't get raisin clemence, because it is chocolate brown half the day. Same for raisin chevre. Violet chevre is TDF.

thanks for the advice, kellybag. i cannot sell the fuchsia kelly, though, because it has sentimental value. my dad bought it as a gift for me from tokyo and i can never part with it  now i'm leaning 60% towards the ostrich...

I vote fuchsia ostrich now while you can get it.

Can you see yourself with something like this [with dimples]?
