Question for those ordered from US. Is the price quoted online the price for the bag? Is there a deduction for VAT tax? These bags are beautiful. Thanks.
I realize this is an older question, but it is probably still interesting for some to know the answer. I can share my experience, which is that the website price for the items I selected was ~320 Euros, and my credit card charge was for ~$340 plus a separate "Foreign Transaction Fee" of ~$10. So, in all, the price I paid in dollars was about $35 higher than what I saw online.

Btw, if anyone is seriously interested in the crayon leather pattern, there was only one bag left in it on his website as of earlier this week (the Bow). I'm super sad because I really wanted the crayon leather in the Cube, which for me, is the perfect match for that colorway. I'm super tempted to get the Bow just for the crayon pattern, but there are other bags of his that I want more. I already have a clasp bag and I need to be careful with my funds and not purchase redundancies.

I'm waiting to see how I like the bag I bought from him, and to see the color samples before I buy more. I won't lie though, I've been "window shopping" his website and using restraint, only managed to narrow down my wish list to 12 bags.

Hi @AnnaLou , I’m sorry to hear you’ve been charged extra on your credit card! That didn’t happen to me with my 4 purchases with Frrry, so I’m wondering if it’s specific with the card that you have. You can try Paypal next time, and upon checking out select “pay with seller’s currency” (I forgot the exact messaging but that was the gist of it). I’ve seen many people use this method when other methods come with additional fees.

I’m excited to see your new Frrry bag! Which one did you get? I might have missed it here somewhere.

My Crayon Cube and Berry arrived yesterday and they are super cute! The pattern is so joyful. If you like doctor bags, you might be into the Bow too. I’ll take photos later.

Next up for me on my Frrry wish list is the Mini Moon, Book Bag or Monday, and the new Boon which debuted today.

Okay, another update. Is anyone else on his newsletter? He has a new bag out called the Boon. Super cute. I haven't broken out my tape measure yet (I have to use it to visualize centimeters since I was raised with inches), so I'm not sure whether it would work for me or not.

It's kind of a round, unique type of camera bag style I guess. I have so many other styles on my wish list that I'm not sure if can make room for this new one as it is not a style that typically works for me, but I feel like it is a style that would work for many.

I love his unique ways of attaching straps.

lol, we posted at almost the same time! Are you on his mailing list? Thanks so much for the tip on the extra charge. I don't mind since it's only about $10 for the "international fee" or whatever it was, but if it is avoidable by using a different payment method then that would definitely be a smarter way to go. The rest of the price difference was just the difference between dollar vs. euro, which I assume is unavoidable.

You're lucky that you got one of the last Cubes in Crayon!! I'm super jealous! I can't wait to see photos!! Are these your first bags from Frrry or do you have others?

The moon and/or mini moon is on my list as well and might be my next one. I'm trying to resist the temptation to order anything else before I actually see and touch what I already bought. I've done it before where I get all excited over a brand, order a ton of stuff and then end up underwhelmed once seeing it in person. I don't think that will happen here but I want to be careful.

I ordered the Owl in soft gold. I think the slight sheen will beautifully highlight the soft scrumply shape of the bag. Here are some pics of it from different angles from his website. The angry owl eyes from the side absolutely delight me. I find it to be like a hilarious little joke that I get to carry around. It will make me smile. :)

My Crayon Cube is my 4th Frrry bag. I also have two 33s (which I affectionately call my Happy Bags!), and a blue Owl. I also have a Crayon, pink and punch Berry. Attaching some pics here!

I am subscribed to his newsletter and I’m debating whether I should get the Boon. I was talking with Ferry a few days ago and he sent me a sample of the naturel veg tanned leather which he used in his new Boon. He also told me that other than his standard lineup of leathers, the limited edition leathers are truly limited edition, as he’s afraid that if he orders too much from the tannery, he won’t be able to sell them. There’s a discount code for the Boon (beanboon) for now.

I love your collection! The Owl in blue is stunning! I'm considering the Ripple in blue as I think the way the bag falls would really showcase the blue color. The Wednesday would be amazing in blue though too, so I don't know. Of course, I'll have to figure out the best combination of styles and colors so that I can maximize my options.

Sounds like you've worked with him, so do you know if he would make a particular bag in a different color, for example the Notification leather in a different bag shape, or would he make the Happy using specific colors?

I am so impatient/excited for my bag and wallets and samples to get here! lol

Btw, how did you like the veg tanned leather? It looks really stiff and he does say on his site that it is more stiff than the others so I assume it should hold its shape well. I also noticed on this one that there are two yellows, the usual Sun and a lighter one. Is that one new too do you know? I like the Boon in yellow as he has pictured with the black zipper and hardware. The contrast looks great.

Thank you! It’s always a risk when buying bags sight unseen. Luckily the ladies on this thread helped a lot and Ferry is extremely friendly and approachable to work with. I highly recommend that you go ahead and ask him any questions you may have, he’s very genuine and if he thinks a particular leather wouldn’t work well with a particular style, he will tell you. I had my eye on this magenta leather of his and had inquired whether it’s a good fit for his Mini Moon, and he told me he doesn’t think that leather is a good fit, which I appreciated.

For his Notification leather, he definitely used it for other styles. He made a Cube for a lovely member here in Notification leather, which is what got me into Cube in Crayon. For my Happy Bag (aka 33), he used 33 different types of leathers for it, hence the name. It’s still up for sale, just email him and he can make you one if you’re interested:

I’m still on the fence about the veg tanned leather. Granted I haven’t played around with it enough to form an opinion, but if this is something that matters to you, I don’t think the leather feel is as nice as his pebbled leather, which feels divine.

Btw, his smooth yellow Boon is sold out (not me, but I saw it’s sold out on his site). I don’t think it’s a new leather, I’m pretty sure one of the leather pieces of one of my Happy Bags is that yellow. But I don’t think the smooth yellow is part of his standard lineup of leathers (lol clearly you can tell I’ve bothered Ferry way too much with my questions )

The Happy shows up as sold but he does say in the comments to contact him if you want one. I may end up asking him about it. There are others higher on the priority list though. lol

I found that awesome Notification Cube earlier in the thread and I seriously love it. :hbeat:

I don't see magenta leather on his site right now though. Did he sell out of it? I did read that he buys certain leathers as standards and then special ones on occasion, like the Crayon one, so when those are gone, they're gone. Kinda amps up the FOMO factor a bit for me - lol. I keep having to talk myself out of the Boon because I know that I will like other styles better and can't afford them all. I seldom use bags with zippers like that (that meet at the top or that need to be zipped all the way around). But I hate to miss out on the discount! Why do I need a discount on a bag I don't want? Um. Discount!

I wonder which leathers will come in the samples that he is sending. Just the usual ones probably since I didn't request anything different. I appreciate your thoughts on the veg leather. That's how it looks from the photos too. I can see it being nice for certain styles but definitely stiff and a little thinner than the others.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU @fettfleck and everyone in this thread for writing about Frrry! I drooled over your pictures and descriptions, checked out frrry's site and social media, emailed Ferry, and got the Wednesday and the Berry.

Ah. May. Zing. leather and design!! I just want to continuously look at and pet my new bag and pouches.. they are so soft and smell so great and feel so substantial.

Love frrry's thoughtful designs and wonderful details. I'm definitely a fan of his work and considering the Book Bag in Soil next!

Thanks again everyone

OMG, I wasn‘t here so long! Love your Wednesday! It is a fabulous bag, non? I love taking it for work, because it is also so lightweight, looks great, understated and stylish und I also love the feel of the leather. Happy you like your new bag!

Found this company through this forum and went to the website. Oh no. I love EVERYTHING.
I meant to just order the Berry wallet and leather samples. Really I tried to behave. Wait until I get the samples and THEN make a decision. That's the smartest plan.

Sigh.

I ordered the Berry and the samples (good... according to plan), and the A4 paper white wallet (no, no, that wasn't part of the plan), and the Owl in soft gold (ACK! what am I doing? I said I was going to wait!).

But it isn't my fault! The Owl is too pretty and I NEED a soft gold purse because my last one (that I wore forEVER and loved so much) started peeling because it wasn't real leather (and my handbag wardrobe - like my heart - has had a soft-gold hole in it ever since). This company's products ARE real leather so the color shouldn't peel. And I anticipate that the Owl's shapes and folds will beautifully showcase the soft gold leather color and material. I mean, when you think about it, it was SMART of me, really, right? Right?

So thanks (I think) to you good folks who shared this artist. I'll post a picture of my goodies once they come in. I'm really looking forward to receiving them. And I think I can resist anything else until I get the color samples. I think. Probably. Almost definitely. Oh boy. Fingers crossed. :P
So good choices! Did you received your goods by now? I did not know he has a golden owl! It is so beautiful! I have greybluish one (color called mist, I think it is similar to rock), but a golden bag (or golden shoes in my opinion) are never wrong!!!

I haven't received it yet. It's international, so I'm sure it takes a little longer. I'm trying to be patient but I really am excited to see it!

The Wednesday is on my wishlist also! Of course, I have almost all of his bags on my wishlist, so I'll have to narrow it down. lol!

@Norm.Core @jblended @AnnaLou @vesna @nyeredzi

My apologies for getting back to you ladies so late of a review of my Frrry Pumpkin in Crayon. Things got really busy around here and I never got around to taking photos of it. I’ve now used it for a few weeks and can come back with a detailed review.
4E66EF9B-6C14-4ADE-8BB7-C4C4917EF8B1.jpeg
Pros:
  • It looks exactly the same as on the website
  • The print hasn’t faded, even in the spot where it’s always rubbing against my body when worn crossbody (I wore the bag heavily for a week walking around, so it rubs against my body a lot)
  • Incredibly lightweight
  • The crease where the bag collapses isn’t visible at all when expanded
  • Fits a ton for its size (hand sanitizer, hand cream, card holder, 2 small pouches, pack of gum, AirPods, pepper spray, iPhone, and a pair of gloves)
BEF63CE4-418B-49C7-8BA9-13F665C2A1D1.jpeg

Cons:
  • The spots where the crossbody strap is attached gets pulled, and manipulates the shape of the bag in a way that I don’t quite like. I’m wondering if Ferry should have chosen another point on the bag to attach the strap, or at least reinforce it more. @jblended you have made and worked with popcorn pouches before, is this a common problem with this bag?
  • The leather is very soft, and I’m afraid that the more I wear the bag, the more the above problem will increase

The bag has a great price point and is a very fun bag to carry around. My next bag from Frrry would probably be the Amos.

The bag was shipped by Netherland’s national post and took a week to reach me in Canada. I wasn’t charged any duty which was a pleasant surprise!

Congratulations on your beautiful new bag! It's adorable! :flowers:

When I made them, I put the straps on the outer seams, not the top of the bag. You know the portion where the leather is pressed together and has rivets either end? I put a strap loop in the middle of that bit because it is the thickest portion of leather and is naturally reinforced, thus being able to handle the weight of the strap pulling on it.
IMO on yours- and I am no expert- there is no reinforcement that would stop it from pulling the leather up when carried due to the placement of the strap attachment. It's gravity working, there's not much you can do. The reinforcement only stops the leather from stretching and tearing from the weight of the full bag on your shoulder. From the picture, it appears that he has cleverly prevented that (potential of stretch/tear) by stitching down the d-ring inside of the bag.

May I ask what he's done on the inside? Is it lined and are there any pockets? I lined mine but never bothered to try to place an interior pocket (though I have a quirky idea of how it could be done).
