I plan to get a mink this year but I would also like to get a fox coat...Crystal or Silver fox...maybe even both if I can find the right deals. I also like lynx & coyote fur so they are also in the running. I would love a sable coat but that would be one I would have to plan for.

I saw a lady yesterday in the most beautiful sable coat. (I was wearing my shadow fox wrap) I just had to compliment her on it. She said her husband gave it to her for Christmas & with our cold temps lately, she was getting the opportunity to wear it right off the bat. The color of her coat was gorgeous!!! I was sort of a grayish brown shade....I would call it taupe. I have not seen this color before. She looks fabulous in it with skinny jeans, boots, & turtleneck sweater! I was so caught up in that glorious coat, I forgot to take a picture. :sad:

Another cold day with highs in the 20's. I had a meeting & some bankinng to do so today the hat came out. I went monochromatic today in all black....black fox hat, black leather/fox coat, gloves, leggings, mock turtleneck & boots plus black Tahitian pearls. This morning I got several compliments on the coat/hat pairing & was even told I looked like a Russian princess. I'll take that compliment!!:giggle:

Thank you, KK. I was nice & cozy, especially with the hat! We don't see fur hats very much here except for the knitted beanie with a fur pom. I would love to find a hat to wear with my shadow fox wrap. This cold weather is letting me to really enjoy my furs every day!! Looks like it will continue into next week as well!! :happydance:

I love the hat! I wish more people would wear them so they would be plentiful in the stores. I have a knitted mink one with fox pom pom but it's not cut right. The band is too small and pops off my head, and I have a teeny head so I know my head is not to fault lol
I know isn't this cold weather wonderful? It stings a bit but who cares, we get to wear our furs!
Try looking around, you may find a hat match to your wrap :)

Thank you, KK. I love hats but women don't wear them very much anymore. The fox hat I've had for 20 yrs. I put my hats in storage, too. When they're home, they're on hat stands. I suppose that's why they've held up so well. I've been looking for a hat to wear with my wrap for the past few months but haven't seen anything that really grabs me yet. It would be nice to find one with the same color patter & colors as the fox on the wrap but I haven't seen one yet. I've seen a few with gray fur but nothing that really draws me to it. I would love to find a Dr Zivago type hat made of the same fur with the same colors. The search will continue until I find one. I don't have a problem cyber stalking something I want.:graucho:

Hat is gorgeous. I would love such a hat. The weather in London is still fairly mild. I'm attending a funeral tomorrow. Is fur too flashy?

Thanks, mochachoc! I have 2 fur hats similar in style. The other is Tanuki Russian Roller hat. I wore it today. No, I don't think fur is too flashy for a funeral, especially if in natural color & in a classic style. I've seen women wearing their minks at winter funerals if the weather is cold & not raining.

That's good you store them, they will last forever. Shame I can't store all my furs :(
I looked at the new styles and they aren't nearly as nice as the older styles. They look so big and out of proportion. Yours is very nice and fits well.
I was looking at fox fur pictures and I came across this, isn't it a gorgeous look?

It is. But I do rather enjoy your Gucci's and how you and others on this thread wear fur today. I mentioned I was watching All About Eve and it's clear owning fur and the type of fur was synonymous with where you were on the social hierarchy. Glamour is wonderful and long may it remain but irreverence is nice too.

I love the glamour & styles of decades past. People dress so much more casually these days. I love the modern styles, too. I'm very casual around the house but I won't even go to the store without putting myself together. While my lifestyle is more casual at my age, old habits die hard.

Gucci really did modernize furs. They turned it into a work of art, something that was not seen in decades past, although I could be mistaken.
Yes your right, fur declared your status. Now we have ebay where furs of the past are well affordable, and just about anyone can get their hands on a fur :)
I'm just glad to see it making a come back!

Way too casual. It's like people are shy to dress up these days. Sometimes I need a break and I will have a casual comfy day, but as a whole Id rather be dressed up, and oh mercy no would I be caught dead without my makeup on lol
Back when I was living in the city id walk my dog in the morning basically just crawled out of bed look, with my glasses on. My neighbor said to me one day "I see your sister walking your dog every morning" she said with a smile. I just paused and thought to myself "I'm an only child". Then it dawned on me, she had no clue that the rat she saw every morning was me without my makeup! LOL That's how different I look without it! ew :lol:

In the house I live in my PJ's!
