Foreign Language Forum?

I might be totally confused, but wasn't there talk of having one on tpf? for bilingual people here to speak in their own language, i know we've got quite a few here. Was that shot down or am i remembering wrong?

From what I remember, megs and vlad have designated English as the primary language for the forum. Not all the mods are bilingual and it would be very difficult to moderate subforums in other languages for that reason.

Well I speak in Español (Spanish) and a little French, however I found lovely to speak in English too

Yep, that would make a lot of sense. It would really be difficult for mods to monitor threads when they were in a language they couldn't understand!

This is true, but not all translation services are accurate- and more importantly, it would be extremely time consuming for the mods here to run each and every post thru a translator program. We have tens of thousands of posts here along with members... it's just not practical.
