I have had my speedy 30 for 3 years and use it 3 months out of the year every day and do that yearly and never remove the lock and it is fine. I wonder if they are doing something different with the lock?

Thank you for posting this. I went and took the lock off my Speedy immediately after reading. No damage done so far.

As soon as I get any bags from LV, I remove the locks...never liked them! I guess it's NOW a good thing!

I've seen this before and that's why I don't keep the lock on my speedies. I put a kitty charm on instead.

Does anyone know what LV says about this? I have a brand new 30 and I like the look of the bag with the lock on it - now I have to take it off? I thought I bought a pretty trouble free LV now this! Sorry for ranting but this is so annoying!!!!!!!! I don't know whether to take my chances or keep the lock off the bag.

yup the same thing happened to my bag and I have only had it for a month! I just figure if I keep the lock on, it will cover up what it did and no one but me will notice (and fume when I think about it!)

Yes mines been like that for a while now and i only bought it in feb.
Ah well i no i paid money for it and as a 17 year old who wasnt working at the time it cost me an arm and a leg but im not going to take the lock off just becuase its going black, damage is done now so...

Yer i do love my bag but it comes out in every weather including rain. I paid so much *too me* for it and at the end of the day its a bag! but dont get annoyed with me for saying that but thats all it is, not the end of the world. Its replaceable.

But yer am pissed about the lock thing
