Definitely the first option for sure. When I was looking on ebay for my my graffiti pochette, I hung around there for awhile, checking every couple of days for the one with the least wear. I finally did find one and it cost a lot less (mine was $450 including shipping compared to most that were $500-$525) than most of the ones with the dark straps, surprisingly. I'd just kind of rather be the one to put most of the patina on, unless it's a vintage bag. So anyway, I'd go with the first option. :)

#2--I like a darker patina. I love the well-loved look of LV. My popincourt haut is still waiting to be used, as I'm waiting for it to stop screaming "brand new!".
