It depends on the price vs retail. I have purchased used bags, but they must be pristine. And at a considerably lower price than retail. My rule of thumb is about 30%. In my experience, it is easier to buy a used damier bag because they are so indestructible.

#2! As long as the patina was pretty even and it wasn't dirty/black or anything. I bought my Thompson St. used for less than half the retail and it was definately patinaed and even had a few water spots from rain, but it still looks gorgeous!
