My fjord birkin has no veins & don't forget you get veins in togo as well. Togo to me has a more casual look & this will be more so in a 35cm or above. Do you like slouchy or stiffer? Fjord will be stiffer, matt & more sophisticated looking than togo. But if you prefer sheen & a more casual look, go togo. BTW, I personally prefer black in other skins than fjord. It's somehow not black enough for me.

^ Agree! Colours appear "lighter"/less intense in Fjord compared to most other skins. Amongst the pebbled leather, I find this to be most appealing esp if the grains are small (the veins don't bother me as much). I like how the leather hold the bag shape and the matte-ness make it more dressy!

I love Fjord for my everyday bags. My black Birkin is a Fjord, and I am about to purchase a Vert Anis Fjord Jypsiere. It is so durable. I've worn my Birkin hard and it still looks new. The ladies at my H shop are completely impressed with how well my bag has fared.

I have a fjord 35 birkin that I use as an everyday bag. I've used it almost non stop for over a year now. I've handled it gently and also stuffed it while I was traveling. I love this leather for its structure and the matte look that makes the bag look as if it's been well cared for. Whenever I go in H, the ladies looking for a birkin admire my bag. :) I highly recommend it. It's been soaked, bent, and tossed around but yet it stands tall and beautiful on its own. It's one of my top 3 leathers! Imo the veining makes it more unique but if you are not a fan then check the bag in person first.

I wholeheartedly agree with Ellelee about the "soaked, bent" part! Especially with a toddler around, who likes to root around in Mommy's purse...she likes to pull the handles down in order to get her hands into the bag (much to Mommy's horror!), yet the bag and handles retain their shape. I'm normally a fan of smooth leathers like box and VN, but I love my fjord Birkin because it has a smaller grain and fewer veins than most fjord bags.

Fjord is masculine yet has tons of chic vibes in it! I adore fjord! don't own one yet but this is the leather I dream for my first birkin, as I want to use it as an everyday bag!

I saw a briefcase in my local store in a dark blue ( cant remember now whether it was indigo or Bleu de prusse) in a veined Fjord and it was divine. If I hadn't been waiting for my SO then I would have bought it. The leather looks chic and tough at the same time whilst giving a depth and punch to the colours in an unflashy matte way. I love the veins - it gives a formal chic item a special organic dimension.

This is an old thread but I am wondering what is the current "situation" with Fjord?? Has anyone bought a Fjord Birkin 35 recently? Is it heavy, heavier than Clemence (or Togo)? Other opinions about Fjord? I don't see much discussion or pics of Fjord bags, so I am wondering if it is not a popular leather.. I have had a Fjord B35 in my sight but hesitating bc I have only been dealing with Togo Birkins so far.. Thank you for any comments! :flowers:
